I think it was alright layout-wise but it could have benifited with more buildings. Good to see you added realistic details like the tables and the footers. Good luck next time though.

Very very charming. It's nice to see you steadily improve screen-by-screen and release-by-release. Reminds me a lot of SSSammy's path on the site.

Well I actually scored it reasonably high. Why? because the design of the coaster itself and the the basic structure of the landscape where fine. The reason why this is not design worthy cleary lies in the execution of the overall area. It's an extremely crude version of what could be design worthy. It's just the basics and nothing more.

I 100% agree with tyandor. "It's an extremely crude version of what a could be design worthy", although a better version of this could never score higher than 65, 70%.

your almost halfway to making a design. try to put in some more time. Add more details to your buildings and the surroundings. For example a path going under the water like this doesn't really appeal to me. at least try to make a building over it then, or better try to make a nice bridge. Also the water edge is just missing things. look at other parks what they do with the edge between land and water, its one of the nices places to work with foilage. Also the park entry was not working for me. if you want it to not be included or something like that just use an invisible entry which is a bit from the map or somthing like that. take a look at other designs to see how that could work.
if you put some more work in it you might be able to get a design soon. cause I can see you are improving.

and this is how we came to the stagnant NE style, I'd say keep playing and search for your own style, you are improving but don't copy things just to make design, build in your own style, just refine that style a bit more

^ While I agree that he should search for his own style, I think Leo was saying to check how other parks used the invisible entrance set away from everything and not so much to emulate other designs in an effort to get an accolade.

My thought on the "stagnant NE style" is that everyone decided to try to go for uber-realism and very few are really capable of pulling it off well. So, we have a shitload of projects that are attempts at being uber-realistic but falling well short and coming off as bland and boring.

That, and the overuse of those damn corrugated roofs that make every building look the same :SA:

Which basically goes to show that the previous NE style (the 4 cornered, IOA-styled parks) was so much better than the style of today.

Don't forget 2x2ism and virginia reel archings à la Pyro :) Aaaah, the days ...

2x2ism was popular for a reason. 2x2ism works.

There are always going to be trends and mainstream styles. It's just unavoidable and not necessarily a bad thing. People imitate what inspires them, whether that be out of game stuff or in-game stuff from others. New things flow from it too. Looking through other peoples work to get ideas/draw inspiration or learn building techniques is something you do when you are learning the game and get skilled at it. As long as you're not a complete copy-cat and have a rich imagination, you will develop your own style. That doesn't mean it can't fall under a style category.

As far as NE style goes... what NE style? We had so many styles over the years there is not a single one. If there is any NE style it's really the style of the day if you ask me. That said I think we currently are in the curved monorail track craze :p
