Here's a nice big update, though not exactly what I meant earlier when I said I was only going to do another update once I had a new section or something really cool to show you guys.

Anyways, I got runner-up in the August themed hyper coaster competition at RCT2.com. The winner was "Poseidon's Frenzy" by yeshli2nuts AKA SFGadvKing (pinned here in the Ad's), and I haven't gotten a chance to open his entry yet, but from the overview it looks like he deserved the win. My coaster is an Intamin hyper coaster (my first that wasn't in a scenario or coaster designer) named "The Hammer of God". The reason I'm posting this in this topic and not in a new one is because this coaster will be in the moonbase section of XI's: Eon Odysseys. So, you're getting a sort of a downloadable mini-preview for my park. I only hope this won't disqualify me from the RCT2.com VP or the NE spotlight (not like I'd have a chance at that anyway). Would it? Here's some pics from the download:

The coaster train going down the second major drop, nearby some theming of crew members from the spaceship "Goliath" attaching a beacon to the meteor, "Kali". The little vehicle you see there is the space sled. I didn't build Goliath, but when the full version of the park is released, this coaster will be improved a bit, and I may include some of Goliath. Also, in the version of the park you'd be downloading with just this coaster in it, there aren't any entertainers there, since I made a mistake and took out the astronaut entertainers when getting this "contest version" ready.

The coaster is themed to Arthur C. Clarke's novel (and short story), "The Hammer of God", which basically is about a meteor on a collision course with Earth. It's very similar to "Deep Impact", which was inspired by this book. I wrote a lot about the book and the coaster in the read-me included with the coaster download, so that you'd be able to understand the theming and such. The download link is at the top of this post.

Now some late replies that I was saving for an update:
To everyone: Thanks for the comments.
To mantis: Yeah, I've been changing around the resolution in the screenshots I've been taking.
To OhioCoasteRFreaK36: Thanks. I just meant that I wanted the next update to be of something in a different area and maybe of a more important ride. I figure I could get most of the ocean area down in about a week or so once I start on it, so maybe I'll do something from that.

If someone wants to, I suppose this could be pinned for a week or so since it is sort of a release. If not, eh, whatever.

Also, I got a fantastic idea for another coaster in the moonbase area (the structure around it would be the coolness), but I'm not sure I want to have another coaster, as I already have 3 major ones there, plus a smallish one, and this one would be a medium sized one. However, the idea is just so good that I'll probably include the structure no matter what, and if I have to I'll just make it a dark ride or something. The theme for the ride was what was originally going to go on this hyper coaster and is from a story known as being one of Clarke's most moon-based.

BTW, I may have to postpone work on this for a month if there are any good Halloween contests going on next month. I have an good idea for a "weird" park, in a similar style to this one, just smaller.

I can't look at it right now, but it really looks amazing. I'll post a longer comment as soon as I've had a chance to look at it :)

I can't really think of much to say except you've got a great vision for architecture and this is shaping up to be one of my most anticipated releases. Great job.

OK, I finally had the time to look at it, and wow, it's even better than the screens make it seem.
I think the amazing attention to detail, and your great vision for creating stuff like this, is what makes it so incredible. Or, the actual thing is that incredible, but there are certainly glimpses and promises of incredibleness here. Can't wait to see the whole park, though the map looked rather large. If you keep up with stuff like the hologram of the meteor hidden inside one of the buildings, you might hit the object limit pretty quickly.
Oh, and one thing that just annoys me, change the sides on the ice land to ice! It looks a lot better.

    Thanks for the comments.

to d4rkj4nu5: Whew, that's good. I expected it would be dissapointing. Personally I thought my work here was a little bare, but that does have something to do with the whole vacuum thing. The map is actually larger, but that's just because I shrunk the map down for this release. However, most of the excess map is past this coaster and probably won't be used, unless if I do resorts on this map. So it may still be this large (or small?). I'm a little worried about the obj. limit myself. I definitely will hit it if I keep on this, but there are quite a few things I can do to avoid that. One thing is to only build inside of buildings when it's important. Also, I need to do some rebuilding with single tile blocks, since I've been doing almost everything with quarter tiles since that's all I included. Also, about the meteor. That originally was a pretty nice looking comet until I remembered that "The Hammer of God" was about a meteor. And the reason I have the glass rooves on that part of the building is so that you can at least kind of see inside to that. You still can't see the indoor part of the coaster though, but that isn't especially interesting. I'll see about changing the stone to ice. I may or may not, since none of the landscaping is actually ice, it's just covered with some white fluff around there.

Meanwhile, I read one of the last source materials for this project, Clarke's teen oriented novel "Dolphin Island". Now I'm rereading "The Deep Range" while planning out the Barrier Reef/ocean area. There's going to be a (or should I say, a half of a) very difficult structure that I'll have to try not to go overboard on. This is something that I don't think has been done since around the early days of LL.
