The Night effect on the LotR/HP park was just incredible. Added a whole lot more to the entire thing. These are easily two of the greatest parks this season. Just a shame that one of them has to lose.

Did you even look at both parks in-game? With the detail in both a HIGHLY doubt you could have come to a reasonible decision in 8 minutes

    @ you

I hate to agree here and I've been staying out of these kinda arguments so far this H2H, but I find it hard to believe that you could even download both these parks in 8 minutes nevermind explore them

Amazing looking park HK, I'm gonna download it later but from the overview it looks to be top tier

I believe the use of track in the HK park was absolutely top notch and I have a hunch who was the main builder for this park and I have to say, WOW, you've come a long way if it is who I think it was...

HK's park was epic. It was just missing a main ride for me. I understand it's Disney and it's some of the best architecture I've ever seen. One really good ride though could have made me feel so much more inspired after viewing it. That's being picky though. I'd hate to vote against any of the two parks.

The structures, ideas, and details in this park were some of the best I've ever seen. That's three of the four big areas in RCT2. The fourth is roller coasters, but the Hurricanes failed miserably on that front I'm afraid, so in terms of my vote it's no contest.

Rowling v. Tolkien had some excellent ideas and others that were pretty lame. Aunt Marge as an observation cabin? I guess it was meant to be funny... Similarly, the execution of said ideas had a few hits and many more cheesy-gimmick misses. Hogwarts did look very nice in the nighttime version.

I will explain my vote later.

For now - Kitchen - some of the best architecture and planning of all time.

Hurricanes - I strongly dislike the concept and will explain why later.

@RRP - Yes, wow is the proper response to that.

Admittedly, I have not voted this season for various reasons however I must say that the HK park is perhaps one of my favorites of the season as well.

So many details in both parks and its a shame one of them must be eliminated however I would have to give it to HK

    Well done to both teams

The HK park has excellent buildings but it feels very cramped. So cramped that it ruined it for me. The Hurricanes park on the other hand felt open, inviting, had architecture close to the HK standard but not quite as good. I'm going to have to disagree with Wanted, the concept is amazing in my eyes. The Willow vs. Treebeard fight made my day. However, I think that the nighttime palette is just included to jump on K0NGenstein's bandwagon and it doesn't add anything here. (but it could be used elsewhere by a skilled builder) And to think that this park isn't even the full version! I want to see the full version so much.

Speaking from a completely neutral standpoint, I'd say we have the better park here. Hurricanes, you built a pretty nice Hogwarts on your map but the actual concept is just weird. I'd rather see you tackle either Rowling or Tolkien on their own; having both in one park just looks not cohesive and messy. The ideas are all there, though, I suppose.

The Hurricanes park ... had architecture close to the HK standard...

    1) Wrong. The Hurricane's park is great but the architecture is not what makes it great; in fact, I would say the architecture in the Hurricane's park is one of the weaker aspects of the park (the other being the rollercoasters), while the architecture in our park is undoubtedly our strongest aspect.

    2) What a terrible assumption. Because of people like you, others will be scared to re-use original ideas in fear of being called out on "copying" or "jumping on the bandwagon". Pathetic. Imo, this is completely different and works well for the context: Hogwarts is most famously known for the scene in which the students first arrive at night; that is the Hogwarts that the Hurricanes portrayed so well. The fact that they used RCT colors to show a night time version of a building is FANTASTIC. What KONG did was change the water data to make the entire park monochrome. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. And the fact that you mixed the two up shows how ignorant you are about this game.

Sorry to be so harsh. Actually I'm not really sorry. Whatever.

Hurricanes, I can't wait to see your park in game! Looks to be one of those 'little things' park, so let the detail search commence!

bad coasters, good architecture, and a damn good idea versus fantastic planning, flow, feeling, and especially architecture with a slightly worse but still great concept and better coaster layouts, though lacking variety.

Its a no-brainer in my head...

    It's a tough choice again.

Looked at objectively, HK's park is definitely better than Canes but Disney..Oh, I'm just tired to seeing 'Disney' park..
I'm afraid, but It really didn't appealing to me anymore.

    ...Holy Fuck.
this is gonna take a while to make a decision

This was such a difficult choice. I loved both of the parks. HK's park reminded me exactly why I like Disney. Hurricanes' park was fantastic too. I especially loved the palette change and all of the little things such as the basilisk, Quidditch training, and Snape killing Dumbledore.

AC mind not telling people their opinion is wrong. Not sure when you became the judge of what opinions are right and wrong... you have not even seen the park in game and your judging its architecture. Your opinion is much more likely to be wrong.

Also Shotguns your vote will not count due to the date you joined NE. I had forgot all about that rule till last match when a member I had never noticed cast'ed a vote. I looked up to see he joined this month, then I checked the rule and it says that votes by members who joined after 3/28/12 will not count.

I guess I am just grumpy by the way this is going...

Just wanted to explain why I do not approve of the concept in the Canes' park.

The park features two authors of some of the greatest "fantasy" works of all time. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and the Silmarillion come from these two brilliant authors. The world in which Harry Potter takes place is both magical and wonderful. A great concept of J.K. Rowling's that was weaved together with exceptional skill and creativity. An amazing fantasy world that has captured the attention of millions around the world. Similarially, Tolkein created Middle Earth, containing the stories of the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and the Silmarillion. The story of Middle Earth are looked upon as the most influential fantasy story of all time. Like Harry Potter, Middle Earth has captivated millions.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because I have read the Harry Potter series multiple times and I have recently read the Lord of the Rings for the first time. They are two of my favorite fantasies of all time (along with Elantris, the Dark Tower, and a few others). I can say with fiery passion, in my opinion of course :p - these two remarkable fantasies DO NOT belong together. While both CAN be looked at as equally brilliant fantasies, these are vastly different worlds that should never meet one another.

Let me bring this into slightly more familiar terms. Two of the most loved comic books of all time, Batman and Spiderman, are both great alone. They have great characters with brilliantly designed worlds with entirely different atmospheres. Imagine Batman and Spiderman in the same world. It simply IS NOT right.

This is why I believe that Tolkein's Lord of the Rings should not be related to Rowling's Harry Potter what so ever.
