Ah K0NG, your sense of humor is what this site needs right now. So what that he didn't send in a fully-finished park? As long as it ends up finished and released, I'll be happy regardless. It's honestly discouraging to see people with such vitriol and negative attitudes constantly deriding people topic-after-topic, and it's shit like that that makes me want to leave this site. At the end of the day, it's a game, and it's better to celebrate what's been produced than lament what's been missing.

NE needs a serious injection of humor and optimism, if you ask me...

Er... it sounds to me that he didn't send in the unfinished park because of a black hole, but sent in the empty joke in instead. Sure, it's funny, but it's also kind of disrespectful to the game and the people who played it. Kong was saying fuck you to them. I get that. what I don't get is how you justify it? I'm staying out of this shit, though. Consider me Switzerland.

Given the competition for 1st and 2nd, I'd vote this one the best of the three. Pity.

^ we love honesty don't worry. I just wanted to submit a park to finish h2h on a high. I was also led to believe our opponent was submitting a park, In short, I'm pissed off. Grow some fucking balls and submit a map. I've beat you twice on the row now with a no show. It's not nice busting my balls to submit a park when you don't have the decency to do so yourself. I didn't want a straight win, I just wanted to prove why we should be third place and give our team some final hope. If you told me you weren't submitting I would have stopped building a week ago and got some decent sleep. It's not for points but I could have easily submitted this in a month or two with necessary details and got a well deserved gold with an inspired partner.

Well done for ending h2h with a really shit matchup, whoever made this decision to submit a blank map deserves to come fourth. Karma, is a bitch my ass, grow up and fucking face the facts that you just couldn't face the pressure.

On a lighter note six frags, Kumba, wheres walto and incitties inspired me to finish this park. This is completely dedicated to you guys that actually showed up this season. I would not have finished it any other way without you guys championing your park and making me want to work to make sure you all got third place.

I started thinking about all the trash I talked for the last four years and how it all was about to bite me in the ass....and thought "Man, karma is a bitch"

It's not karma that stopped you from winning, it's that the other players and teams were better than you.

J K, honestly don't get yourself agitated with this, you made a brilliant park, and that alone is enough to end H2H6 on a high note. Lowering the tone to make it audible to Kong's aging ears will only end in some sort of huge fall out.

^ Agreed. Congrats to all the teams this season. Heavens Kitchen and the replacements deserve everything they earned to get to the finals. You were both incredible teams from the draft and have lead by example from your amazing parks.
  • ScOtLaNdS_FiNeSt%s's Photo
@Trav, I dont think kong is saying that it was because "karma" we didn't win. It was more of an admission from him that hes been shit talking and in his own way is trying to say, Well done to the other teams.

"Karma is bitch" is more directed towards us than anybody else.

Anyway no need to have a "debate" :p about this its done and dusted.

Well done JK and walto i enjoyed the park.

And, as BG said, during the process we encountered a black hole. After giving his all in two of our RR matches, Cena just completely lost all motivation for this and basically disappeared...so we had no one available to fix the black hole.

I'm so sick and tired to hear about all your weak excuses for not finishing a park with a deadline. "Oh, my computer got a virus/HD crash and deleted the one .sv6 with our final park!", "We got a blackhole and don't want the park to be released with a blackhole", "My computer had to take a shit 2 minutes before the deadline!" (<-- Lol, humor).. As "genius", as you claim to be, you could have taken the time to learn how to fix it using Levis' Hex Edit Tutorial. It takes a whole 10 minutes to understand, and another 10 minutes to fix a blackhole.. It's a weak excuse and you know it..

On the other hand tho, I would've liked that "The Black Hole" idea tho, I think it's kinda funny :)

Mythos kicks the crap out of the finals parks.

Po6 is a cool guy, he does more then anyone here now that gees left. He even told us some cool jokes in the hurriacnes sub forum.

    Onya mate!

If you look closely, Avatar actually has 2 black holes in it, and that was WITH Levis on the team. Nobody gives a shit about one tile being fucked up. 5dave released Archimedes with a black hole and it won the Design Contest. Unless you show us just how messed up the park is, I'm not buying this excuse.

As it is, regardless of what the percentages say, this park honestly was about 91% J_K. His ideas, his layout, his landscaping, his motivation, his encouragement. I was a pretty lousy partner this round, so he deserves almost all the credit for this.

Okay, so, time for a small review:

Canes, first off I've got to say you've done a hell of a job ending H2H6. Overall a very enjoyable park, which was just a lot of fun. Some things I liked:

+ There were a lot of fun sculptures in there. They weren't too overwhelming in detail or anything, but they were a lot of fun nonetheless. Especially the fact you keep finding new ones is nice. You often get to see 2 or 3 really detailled ones in parks nowadays, but seeing at least a dozen of decent sculptures is pretty nice for a change.
+ The foliage felt very appropriate. It was just put together really nicely, good choice of plants, good composition etc.
+ I absolutely loved the little area between the Gibraltar and the Poseidon ride. Some very simple stuff, but these small structures and their surroundings just ooze atmosphere. One of the most inspiring bits in H2H6 in my opinion. Whoever did that: Please do something more with this. I can see this becoming a great design or something.
+ Overall, there was just só much in there. Every corner had something new to offer, and every time I turned the map around you had another surprise waiting. Great job on using the space you had as effectively as possible!

Some things I felt could've been done differently:

    - Even though the pathing in its current form really works for this mythical area, I can't help but be quite disappointed this wasn't peepable. As beautiful and rich as the map was, it still missed ''action'' as a result of the lack of moving people. Frozen staff can't fix that I fear.
    - As good as the foliage was, it lost some of its charm thanks to the landscaping. There were parts where there were a lot of straight dirt walls. I don't know if it was a lack of time/interest, but landscaping ís important. Many people seem to really focus on Archy/ride layouts/possibly even foliage, and then have landscaping come last. I think this park could've been even more impressive if you had properly used quarter tile landblocks, or (and I'm an expert in this, being a replacement) 1k ruins throughout. Might've just made this park a bit more refined.
    - I felt like the moving clouds didn't really add anything. The normal clouds were nice, but the contrast between them and the white monorails just didn't really work...

Overall I réálly enjoyed this park. A lot of fun stuff, as most of your parks this season actually. I think this really shows what you guys are good at. The parks aren't extremely refined, the hacks aren't extremely revolutionary, but your parks have been decent, fun parks with good ideas and concepts in them throughout. You just offer viewers a lót to watch per map, and clearly show you guys had fun building it.

Great way to end the season! Hope to see you all keeping this up, and maybe show some more highly enjoyable rct at H2H7!

J K, I'm really sorry this had to happen. I was suspicious it would so I tried to find info that K0NG would submit a park and found it via Kumba. I was hoping it would be fine... Had I known there were people building on the map that weren't even eligible rule-wise we would have cancelled the 3rd place match and you could have finished the park without the pressure I saw you going through in your team forum. You're one of those very few who actually do finish stuff without an H2H deadline.

What I find even more upsetting is that I always thought a black hole would immediately error trap a park. So that's not the case? It really is just a single tile being black? Or does it error trap the park when you try to build objects over it?

All depends on the blackhole I believe. I've had 3 of 'em so far (I know, not much) and they were all different. Some are way more serious than others. Some just mostly look ugly, some completely screw up the park...

I had one in The Classic, the night of the deadline. Just built taller scenery around it to hide it.

J K and walto, great work on this! I'll give a longer review after I've looked at it for a bit more time, but what I've seen so far is awesome!

Canes I thougt this was one of your most enjoyable performances this season.

I have studied Greek and Latin at my school for a couple of years and where I wasn't really interested in translating the stories I did like the stories. Therefore this concept really appealed to me and I have to say that you executed it brilliantly.

Great work and it's an honest shame that this wasn't one of finals parks.

I've never got an error trapper from a black hole. It can be more than 1 square though, and the tile isn't really 'black' in the colour sense, it just looks like a huge glitch.
  • Six Frags%s's Photo
^I've never seen blackholes covering more than 1 tile.

posix; It's just a glitch where a tile got corrupted. It does not error trap a park and you can even build scenery on that tile; it just will not show up.

The hardest part in my experience in fixing a blackhole is finding the correct blackhole tile. Rowling Versus Tolkien had 2 blackholes, but I luckily found the tiles relatively quick.

Thanks for all the kind words so far guys. At first I was pissed off that I didn't have a proper match and I thought this would lead to the park being swept under the carpet. From the response though I'm glad people enjoyed it. It could have been better with more time added and a third partner in the mix but I'm really proud to get this done in the time constraints.

Sorry for a few frustrated words along the way guys, it's only because I'm a competitive bastard! Lol. I shouldn't have jumped on the RD's backs for not submitting anything as I agree it was hard to get a park in knowing you weren't able to get your team the gold.

We actually knew we'd get a dq posix and we just wanted to release something even if it wasn't rule-correct, we just wanted something submitted to not have another no-show, I know since I spent 36hours building last week and knowing it was ending up 4th place anyway but just so there would be something, I know it's not regulated but we wanted to submit something, but if you indeed have 3blackholes in an area that makes a coaster crash and renders a completed section obsolete just before a deadline that's something else.

Sorry JK for another no show, I also did my best to endour team on a high note but it was not to be... I talked to you about this the week we where both building our asses off and I respect you for doing the effort for your team and it should be recognised as it is since you've built the best park of the finals. and that's period.

Again we had an error that actually caused a lot of trouble because of where it was located and that on the night of the deadline... I'm actually willing to post screens here so you'll know what we where sending in...

I think everyone would enjoy to see those screens.

If and when you do get the blackhole fixed, are you going to complete the park and release/submit it? Because i'd like to what 36 hours of work by BG turned into.

Anyway J K, this park was awesome. Despite my tendacy towards realism, this grabbed my attention. I loved the architecture and whilst Demigod isn't my cup of tea, it was still a fun layout to follow. Lots of great ideas in this. The cyclops holding the rock was awesome and all the little roman soldiers were fun to explore. My favourite thing about this was the River Styx. It had a great feel to it and you pulled off the Underworld theme nicely. The way you faded out the map with rocks was very well done too. This was definately one of the better parks this season and I hope you continue to build awesome stuff!
