I was wondering how Mala's entry could be topped...well, this did it pretty good. Brilliant, unique, and awesome to look at. Congratulations, cBass. Also, thank you, for adding some fun to this game - something that an unfortunate majority of the parks I see usually lack.

PS- All those elephants, dude. What the hell was that all about?

One hell of a park, like Moonspoon said, I doubted anything could top Mala's park....but this did it. Musicland was my favorite, followed by the Nature area. The sex world was interesting and very unique...the Pink Torpedo coaster was kind of odd though  . I loved the woodie in the nature world and everything about Music Land...overall the park was so brilliant. Definatly in my top 5, but for some reason I liked Corkscrewed's park better. Don't really know why though.

Amazingly creative. The screenshot you showed couldn't be more deceiving if it tried. The whole idea of the park is incredible, and smaller ideas such as the "thrusters ;) " and the keyboards and everything just make this one of the best RCT2 parks ever created. Very well executed, and a joy to look at. I'd put this joint with Mala's park. There's nothing between them IMO. Although they are very different, both are absolutely amazing.

    Hahahaha...

To be perfectly honest, I added them because I could. I wish they could have been gorillas instead, but they weren't on the bench.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who responded. I had a lot of fun making this park.

I took a bunch of screens while working on it, and I've created a little construction gallery, if you're interested:

(warning: the thumbnails are generated from the full images, so don't even try clicking on the link if you're on dialup)

    Thanks!

    Awesome construction journal.

    Awesome park.

Finally, some inspiration in exploring new styles of parkmaking.

    Good job :-)

Thanks very much for the construction gallery.
It's the only way I can see the park properly.

From what I can see in the screens this must have been extremely time consuming.

What I presume is the Go Karts on the green blocks look to be fantastic. I don't know whit about RCT2 or its hacks so I won't ask where the track has dissapeared to on that jump.

Love the notes and piano's in the music area.

All of the park just looks plain awesome, kinda makes me wish I could play RCT2.

    Very well done!

This is a fantastic brain you have created, but I can't say that i'll be giving it repeat viewings. As an ideal/attitude it is great for the game, but as a piece of RCT I could never rate it that high. This is probably due to my lack of mind, but I can say with full truth that as a challenge to the community it is as cocky as possible.

I'd love to see a full megapark from you. Because, at base level, it's parks that I love.

It's a masterpiece, and i'm glad it won. Well done.

(knows that mantis can't have missed Wisconsin, so he must yearn for a second mega park?)

I took Wisconsin as another collection of ideas. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be that, but that was my interpretation.

    I mean a park.

I may never make an actual park. At least not in RCT2. Everyone makes parks. Why would I want to compete with others when I can invent my own game and "win" by default? For now I'm content making impossible abstractions that no one else would imagine, much less attempt to create.
  • Toon%s's Photo
I hereby strip you of your 'park'maker status then. You are now NE's only official impossible-abstraction-maker.

Congrats cBass. It was a wonderful experience exploring the abstraction!

I know that, which is why I said "Perhaps it wasn't meant to be that" - my "perhaps" is due to my lack of conviction when it comes to saying things. But in spite of your motives, which are admirable (duh of course they are), it doesn't diminish the fact that i'd like to see a park from you.

I'm sure I will make do, though, as you know.

Sorry cbass, I am not impressed, or atleast, do not see what everyone else seems to see. The idea was very cool, but it's exicution was very bad. The architecture was absolutly horrible as was the themeing. Trying to theme to ideas instead of places is very difficult, and I don't think you accomplished that feat. The coasters were nothing special, and for a winning entry, incredibly dissapointing. As for the brain itself, I know you'll all jump on me for this, was not shaped to well. It looked like it was squashed or pancaked. Sorry cbass, had I been the only judge, you wouldn't have won. But, since I wasn't, congradulations and enjoy the winnings.

On another note, I thik Mala or Mantis deserved to win this compeition. They showed the greatest skill in my opinion.
  • cBass%s's Photo
Those are some fair points, Nate. I guess you can't please everyone.

About the shape, though, I was going for just the top of the brain, like if you sliced it off past a certain height.

To illustrate, I have superimposed my park over a picture of my head which was taken as I was getting whipped by a stripper with a studded leather belt (don't ask, it was the only pic I could find that's close to the right angle).

^ That's the post of the month right there.

I think showing skill, though probobly the most important, isn't the only reason someone should win.

cBass showed talent in building, architechture, color, themeing, originality, and execution.

He had the whole package, and that means the most I think.

Just my opinion, but cBass deserved what he got.

Thene again, they all deserve a lot of respect, all the entries were awesome.

I respect your opinions and your views and I can see where you're coming from...but you have to admit that he put in just as much effort, if not more effort and detail than Mantis/Mala did. Or close to them at least. He worked hard on it....everyone has to give him that.

I wish I could look at it in the game, but alas, I uninstalled the game a while ago and now my damn CD drive won't open.

    Looks incredible none-the-less.

And Cbass, admit, you just wanted to use a picture of yourself being whipped.
