Have you *seen* where Cedar Point's observation tower was?

    Same goes for Knott's.

    Same goes for Knott's.

And the Minnesota Stare Fair, now that I think about it.

Regardless, loved watching this come together and I am excited to see where it places!

Didn't version 1 build that whole hotel?

An amazing evolution, this is something we never thought could be possible!

Didn't version 1 build that whole hotel?

Based on the signs, I thought Liam and Leon did.

    Great job on this!

You'll have to excuse me for forgetting the ride names. I viewed this in game yesterday but am now writing this based on the overview.

The standouts to me were the entrance area (which is stunning), and the area around the invert. The coaster layouts were all quite good, most notably the woodie, the flyer and the invert (though the invert may have been bordering on too many tunnels).

Aside from these things, a few smaller details that really stood out were the awesome roulette wheel, the water ski show (I actually have something similar in Emerald Pointe and thought I came up with an original idea but never mind, lol), the Rapids (which are great) and Badlands Falls which adds a ton of atmosphere to the area.

I have very few critiques aside from random technical things like the transfer track on the family coaster and the fact that the invert turns after the brake run which B&M pretty much never does since it cuts down on dispatch times but honestly who the hell cares?

Overall this is a spectacular park. I love the Multiplayer format and I'm really excited for the awesome parks that are sure to follow. Great job guys. 80% from me.

I placed a lot of it. I had no part in the designing though, and that's what counts imo.

And the Minnesota Stare Fair, now that I think about it.

A Stare Fair? Sweet, where do I sign up?

  • ][ntamin22%s's Photo

This was a very exciting first forray into multiplayer for me.  Very cool to see awesome stuff being built on the other side of the map and taking note of how buildings got tweaked over time with different input.

I think the park layout reflects some of the mad rush of building and different perspectives in ways that are both positive and negative.  It's a great park to look at but not a singular masterpiece the way I expect really outstanding parks to be.

Ouch, surprised this didn't win Spotlight. Hell, it had no votes in the 90s! (after more viewing, I would have gone 90 instead of 85)

This park is really growing on me. I think it's like a newer Dreamport. It does have a strong Liam feel, but that's a quality style. All the coaster layouts were strong. I will say that not much in it gave me a "wow" factor feel, but it was strong all-around.

I wonder if the low score has anything to do with this thing getting done in under 40 days and just slapping people in the face with a full finished park they have not been waiting for over the span of a few years. This thing scoring 17% lower than BGA is kinda crazy,

Any chance the park can be renamed: Sonoma Falls 2? :p
  • G Force%s's Photo

I think the score was a little high.  There were great areas and aspects, but as a whole its kind of a mess and very inconsistent, lots of areas were a bit lazy and rushed as well.

If it wasn't for all the small details and fresh feeling of some of the area's I probably would have voted lower.  It's a solid park, and great first map for the server, but there were a lot of things that could have been better.

  • Cocoa%s's Photo

I think its not so consistent across, but the entrance, hotel, monte carlo, ethiopia, and especially nepalese areas are clear areas in a fantastic spotlight-worthy park. it sort of gets fragmented and the quality wavers a bit in the back half of the park, but that front half is just phenomenal and even new and unique work.

  • Louis!%s's Photo

Yeah I agree, I'm not in doubt at the score, I think its pretty accurate, had the back half been as good as the front half then I think it could easily have been a 90 vote from me and the park score higher. Around the 80 mark is about right.

In terms of spotlight, I voted yes on the basis that the front half (and mexico somewhat) felt like a spotlight to me, and that it was only the other areas that dragged it down, I voted yes, but I'm glad others voted no, as I'd agree that it isn't fully spotlight quality and so shouldn't really be one.

    Great work all round guys.

Would be nice to have more comments on this...

    What i liked
+ Entrance are was really well done. I love the adventorous atmosphere. Maybe some color choices are debatable here, but overall spotlight-worthy architecture.
+ The hotel was a pretty nice area too, really fitting into the park's style, well done also.
+ The coaster layouts. I liked almost all of them. Launched coaster and the invert are classic, but great, woodie, kiddie coaster and the flying are awesome. The spinning coaster is quite solid i think.
+ Backstage stuff... all the backstage areas, the little village, the frozen staff... Amazing work!
+ Overall cohesiveness: Well done for the fact that so many different builders worked on that.
+ Transitions almost everywhere are really well done.
+ Solid at least solid gold worthy architecture in every area, especially great as said in the entrance area, Nepal and Ethiopia.

    What i didn't liked
    - Organization: It's much better than it was sometimes during the building process, but the park, especially the areas in the back feel very chaotic and there is just too much in my eyes.
    - Although these are really well done areas as itselfs, the space area and Shutter Island aren't really fitting into the final park in my opinion. Would have loved to see a little bit more of the other areas to be honest, especially Mone Carlo feels really cramped.
    - Except for the observation tower, there is no flat ride at all in the space area. Same goes for many other areas. As mentioned, would have been loved to have bigger areas with more rides instead.
    - Foliage and landscaping are weird in some places. Feels also a little bit rushed here and there.
    - Jet Ski show feels forced at the end.

Overall i feel like the score is a little bit too low for this. I would have guessed and i think also voted myself 85-90% for it. Well, it doesn't really have something really outstanding in it and not every area is spotlight quality, like something we've never seen overhere, but you may count the multiplayer experience, all the planning effort, and the fact that a whole park this big and in this quality and this certain style never have been done in newer NE as something like that, so i probably would at least have thought about voting "yes" in the spotlight voting, if i would have been panelist for this.

Ok serious but short review. I would've voted 85 and no mainly because the part were very well done but everything was sort of just placed without real thought about how it would fit into the park as a whole. I love the enterance and Ethiopia. Space, Monaco, and the hotel were all very well done but they really weren't placed the best IMO. Mexico was very well done the rapids were fantastic. Shutter island was my least favorite mainly because of the whole built from one angle thing but I just don't think it fit well. Germany was nice, a little simple but a very pleasant area. As for the coaster all were stunning! The woodies didn't fit IMO but the layout was very strong. My main critisms for the park is just planning and placement of stuff. Great work guys I had a blast working on this!

Damn guys, I was a bit sceptical towards this whole multiplayer thing, like "how are they organising this properly" and "how are people not screwing up each other's work", but seeing this I think it kinda works!

    Just a couple of noob questions regarding the multiplayer thingy;

-Can you see what other people are building all the time?

-If you want to use zero clearances or the invisible station/huts hack how does that work?

-Is the game saved continously, or how often?

    -Who did the planning?

-Were there any problems during construction?

Anyway great job guys, I might build some too if there's going to be another park :)

  • Jappy%s's Photo

    - Yes you can if the server is online

    - We normally keep clearances off all the time. In the rare instances we want them back normal, we ask for permission to the one who's responsible at that time.

    - Stuff is normally saved automatically as far as I know. When you leave the server, it asks if you want to save. I always click "don't save" since otherwise it'll save the park in it's current state offline on your own computer.

    - No real planning by anyone. We just built, and discussed where what would work the best. If something didn't fit, we talked about it and voted if we kept it or scrapped it.

    - No problems you wouldn't meet when building any other park.

If you want to build, come check out the current New Element server! We can really need some more help with our realism park! :)
