Then what, pray tell, is fantasy levis?
  • Levis%s's Photo
    something with less boring archy.
at most points this park tries to be realistic in the way it handles the foilage and landscaping. it also tries to be realistic in archy. only adding a few more fisherman wharfs doesn't make it fantasy. only the tower is getting a bit more fantasy but still not really.
everything is made so it could be done in real lift with enough money. thats why i call it semi-realism not fantasy.

My definition of fantasy is "Not meant to be plausible". Semi Realism is "Not meant to be plausible while avoiding over-the-top situations". I think this park falls in the first category.

I took a look at this today, and I totally loved it. It's a very, very unique park with a cool atmosphere and some sick structures. I would love to see more of this type, although next time please make sure RCT2 can still run smooth.

Where the fuck did this guy come from, and where can we get more of them? This is just impressive.

(Lol, I bitch all the time at the realistics claiming that parks are not realistic enough. Now we've got fantasy players claiming it's not fantastical enough. Just shut up and enjoy, guys.)

    Not my cup of tea.

Like I said in the voting topic, my number comes because the park is just technically impressive. That's a heck of a lot of stacking of stuff and at the rate I build, I can only imagine how long that must have taken. That being said, I can't say I really got into it. It was fun to look around, but it's not something that's going to go on my favorite parks list anytime soon. I can watch it an enjoy it, but it's not going to be a favorite. It's not a appealing to me. Alright, enough bad. What is very cool, like I said, is the stacking of everything. That's huge. I would get lost in all of that.. the height as well as the scale. That coaster bumping is pretty awesome. I've never seen anything like that.

Anyway, cool and impressive. I hope you'll keep building. If nothing else, it's interesting.

take a good look at it CP
its actually the same layer over and over again with at some place a little bit added.
so you just build one layer. save it with a ride design and build this ride a bit higher every time.
thats how you build suchs a large tower.

    @ MA -> your getting it :) .

Leo doesn't like it because it's not brown.

Well as you can probably guess.. I love this :)
this is right up my street. its out there and more than just a little different. I can see why it wouldn't appeal to everyone but for me this is awesome :)
The last time I saw anything like this was when Beejer turned up.

hope to see more of Freerider :)

I loved it. The trick where you have to rotate to view everything is great, and I did not see the coaster where the trains intentionally crash coming at all.

Also, the filename was FR's unfinished park 6. Let's hope he has 5 more beauties to show us!

The islang is just amazing, especially that collosal tower, how do you even build scenery that high? The only thing I have against it is the ride's names.

Just making my way through the database, trying to catch up on things I've missed. This is the first park I've come across that I have to reply about right away. I'm probably pretty predictable at this point -- I've always been a fan of realistic parks, but I've seen so many over the years that it takes a lot to impress me these days. What's great about a park like this is that I don't care how precise the selection and placement of foliage is. I don't care if the architecture is mostly repetitive when some more variations in textures and colors would make it more interesting to look at for a longer period of time. What really gets me about this park is that you've taken me some place new. And it's a place I never would have gone if you hadn't taken me there. The landscaping is so convincing that everything else on the map seems to lock right into it like puzzle pieces. That's a really hard effect to achieve in my experience.

The gigantic structure on the side of the map with the coaster tunnels flanking it instantly brings up all sorts of story ideas in my mind. Is it an ancient temple? A kind of futuristic tower of Babylon? Is it some kind of spaceship ready to launch? Or maybe it's all of the above? And then there's a massive coaster winding around the rocky spires with a long winding walkway to get up there and all sorts of cool little buildings to discover tucked in along the way with flat rides and stalls inside of them. I could spend hours imagining what it would look like to be standing on one of those little balconies looking out over the ocean or in one of those windows way up on the cliff.

The massive scale alone makes this park (and FreeRider's other releases here) an impressive RCT achievment. What really puts this particular park over the top for me is the consistency of the idea (I can instantly see what you were trying to achieve here) and the flawless atmosphere which brings it to life. The only thing that would make this park better for me would be peeps, but then that would also slow the game down to the point where it would be harder to enjoy it. Awesome work FreeRider. I literally cannot wait to see your next park.

Ahhh the Ed pearls of wisdom. It's like the good old days. Nice review, I'm so excited for the Korean players.
