Description
In 1988 Walter Willis opened up his property development company, he had an eye on this estate in the Cotswolds. he managed to purchase the surrounding farmlands and opened the park in the late 1980's.
Walter, however, struggled to convince the owner of the manor house on the estate to part with his land. So the park built up around the stubborn home owners beautiful property. Eventually in 1998 in order to compete directly with Alton Towers he bought the rest of the land and turned the manor house into a bar, kitchen and staff office.
Now this all leads up to present day. The park has two options for on site accommodation, a large hotel and a camp site. The park is home to 13 coasters and aims to remove the Log Flume and build a brand new water coaster in the near future! -

Charming NCSO-adjacent park. Reminds me a lot of the parks I built when I was younger - and I mean that in a very good way. Really cute and just very fun to look at.
thank you this took a long time to put together
Strong coaster lineup and a nice overall park layout. It feels very classic in a good way, if a bit bare in spots. Overall a very pleasant park to explore
Super charming park. It may have a bit less detail fidelity than other maps but I think the result is quite endearing and it's clear you spent some time on it. Coasters are all pretty sleek, I like Pharoah a lot (perhaps besides the batwing). I think the Egypt area would have come across better without the tarmac path, which acts to sterilise the theming a bit. I think a park like this would be better served without tarmac at all, or perhaps only as interstitial pathway. Noticed some cute details like the climbing wall vertical sign, and the mechanical western vibe around the wooden coaster. A little bare however in places, for example beneath the pirate coaster - I think even a couple of rocks and a mown grass there could have salvaged the look quite a bit, especially in comparison to some of the more naturalistic landscaping elsewhere.
I thought this was a really nice park! The atmosphere is very nostalgic for me which is a great thing. I love the vibe of the park as well, and the macro is pretty nice with everything sitting around the big lake. The music was a bit much for me, I felt like I was hearing 3 different songs simultaneously all over the map. The ride design overall seemed pretty good! I love how many coasters you managed to fit into this map!
Foliage and landscaping: What's there is pretty good. I think this park is missing a lot of foliage and landscaping details though. I'm a big proponent of leaving some areas more bare to highlight more important areas but I feel like this map was a bit too bare for my taste. Some more interesting landscaping would have gone a long way for me. With that being said there was also some really nice moments like this island on the lake.
The foliage and landscaping came together really nicely here I think. In contrast there were also a few areas where the foliage seemed a bit rushed and unfinished.
Architecture: Also kind of a mixed bag for me. I think the forms of the structures on the map were really inconsistent. You have a lot of really beautifully done, well-integrated buildings and you also have a lot of really blocky 2x2 and 3x3 buildings. There were some amazing moments like the fantastic brick resourant with the purple tables. This castle facade is my favorite thing on the map
I think that there a lot of really good ideas in the architecture but also a lot of ideas which missed the mark for me.
Overall: I liked this map and I'm glad that I checked it out! I rated this 50%. I really look forward to seeing whatever you build next. There are some amazing areas on this map but there is too much missing for me to rate it any higher.
Nice little park here, good layouts and some fun attractions. From a RCT themepark planning sense it had a very classy vibe and was really fun in that sense. Only negatives really is that it felt a bit bare and empty. A little more archy and definitely more foliage (large trees especially) would have helped make it feel much more complete.
Overall, nice work and definitely a solid accolade worthy park.
I like how clean this was from an NCSO perspective. No overuse of tricks or trackitecture, just plain and simple buildings. Very charming!
There were some weird empty spots that could have used some foilage here and there that would've made this better, but what's here is very good. Well done!
Charming map for sure, if not a little bare sometimes. I very much like the boomerang - nicely set with great interaction.
Very fun release! I think this has the bones of a wonderful park. The macro is pretty great and some of the coaster interactions are built with clear intentionality. However, I have to agree with everyone else that it feels oddly bare in some parts and the architecture throughout is quite uninspiring.
Some areas have strong, interesting themes (especially that steampunk-y western area), but other areas feel kind of vaguely realized (especially around The Flower Factory and Thunder Loop). I think there's a way to overtheme some areas and leave other areas pretty generic, implying a history of growth in the park, but I think it reads more like a lack of cohesion here.
That being said, I really enjoyed exploring this park and can't wait to see what you create next!
great work getting this submitted microwave, far easier said than done.
my favourite part was the enigma. its station and queue was nicely composed and the layout was probably the most refined in the park. i think it is no coincidence that this area has the most developed foliage also.
the entrance area also has some really pleasant macro. the eateries and the car ride looking out onto the lake are really cute, great eye.
i also like the keep of camalot area and the cheese factory buildings. these are where your eye for interesting buildings reveals itself and shows that your skill level is above what is presented elsewhere.
sadly a lot of this park feels very rushed, not just in the fact that it feels very empty and underdeveloped, but also the ride design. some of the smaller coasters truly feel like first drafts you connected back to the station as quick as you could. i know you to be a huge enthusiast so i would encourage you to really indulge in your coaster design and keep hammering at them until they're as good as your potential is clearly showing
the thing for me is that in many moments i can clearly see your eye for composition and ride design, but in the end i think you wanted to move on to the next project, which i respect. I'm looking forward to perhaps a more focussed, commited design before your next large scale project to refine your skill which is shining through in many moments on this map.
looking forward to whatever you bring us next!
What'choo talkin' 'bout, Willis... Kingdom?
I think the way this park is organized shows shades of someone who might be a really good realism builder; everything seems very planned and organized. Unironically, this park has a better path layout and is more readable than some spotlight winners; that is its strongest aspect and it almost seems designed by someone who used real life parks as reference. It is, however, strange seeing this level of organization combined with a level of detail that feels rather... 2003 (more on that later).
The layout design, imo, is genuinely really good. The Enigma is positioned very nicely between the foliage and fields, giving guests a good view of the ride. That purple B&M has one of the best layouts in the park and gives guests in the Egyptian area, especially, around the queue, some good interactions. The queue areas in general, which are often overlooked in parks, are placed very nicely here, with some theming and good interactions with the coasters. I would also like to mention that, though it's far from the best executed part of this map, Pinball fury is my favorite area for the fun factor.
With that said, my biggest critique would be the lack of detail, I thought a lot of the architecture looked quite flat and dated; and certain areas, e.g. the river rapids or splash boats, look rather weak. This may not seem to be a fair criticism coming from someone who has been spoiled by DKSO parks, but then you have refined areas in this park, like the haunted hotel, some of the buildings around the entrance, or the occasional clever use of trackitecture that juxtapose with the areas that look rushed or underdetailed.
Overall though, this park demonstrates excellent composition and planning skills; something I personally still struggle with. The areas that look rushed and unrefined, however, hurt it. If I could give Willis' Kingdom an accolade, it would probably be a low silver, but with the caveat that the amazing level of planning here combined with something more detailed and refined could produce a score much, much higher.
I didn't vibe with this park too much, what is there is nice and there's a lot of it, but most areas feel quite surface level. that was obviously the intention, and you didn't dive very deep into the theming, but it felt very scenario-y to me.
some cool parts to see and a nice-sized park with a fair amount of rides and things, but i have to judge this as a spotlight submission and it was quite a way off accolade level for me. always appreciate a submission though, and congrats on finishing a park of this size. looking forward to more!
Congrats on the Bronze! This park shows process in a lot of various parkmaking facets, and I'm genuinely glad to see you begin to make a name for yourself. While not the most technically detailed park, it echoes the vibes of older, early RCT2 parks to me, specifically Six Flags Hoosier Station.
Congrats on the accolade, and I look forward to your next work!
Nice map with a good attention to the coasters (as can be expected). Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Congrats on your first accolade! getting the first one of the toughest.
I really liked the Enigma area the best as it clearly looks like you have spent the most time in that area.
I also like the monorail interaction in the park throughout the park. Can never go wrong with a good monorail IMO.
You also did a good job of blending the lands together to minimize and harsh transitions.
That said, it dis not feel balanced to me in the quality / time spent in each land. Some of the areas felt very rushed. Finally, just because you can have 32 rafts does make it a good choice. Nearly all of them are empty and you have about 7 of them empty in the station. Trim it down to around 15 and space them out using the minimum wait time
Overall, congrats on the Bronze! Keep looking at other parks on how you can fine tune your style and enjoy what you are doing..
Thanks for all the kind comments guys! Im glad everyone enjoyed looking at it, i was expecting this to get a bronze as many of you pointed out, some areas were rushed! however what really got me going on this map was the back of house stuff around the park. i probably spent the vast majority on those areas to try and set the setting a little more.
overall im pretty happy with the park and its score. I do wonder what my other park will get though. Only time will tell.
