Mulpje's strong routine and honed trackitecture skills allow him to easily produce a beautiful NCSO entry that knocks at the door of the top 5.
The theme you chose is classic but also a bit on the safe side. You executed it really well though! The buildings were cleanly designed, the coaster stood out nicely, and the other rides had great presence too, with some fun details throughout. In my opinion it's an examplar design, but a bit safe
Wait that's the same thing I posted about The Green Moss. It's funny how you also have a rapids ride. What grabbed me more in the green moss design was just the overall composition and esthetic
+ Rapids set piece at the start of the ride was incredible
+ The jumping peep near the height marker
+ Rapids station was sublime
+ Mountain climber as the support for the coaster was a great touch
+ Chairlift supports were so creative, hiding three angles to give the view of a vertical wooden support… genius
+ Kite Fighter was great, amazing structure
+Parkmaking was immaculate throughout
Honestly no cons other than I loved this park, it was a damn good piece of RCT, brilliant parkmaking. Couldn’t fault it.

I was hoping to see a high-level NCSO submission, and this did not disappoint. Super vibrant with a ton of layers to explore! I really love the integration of the ride with the landscape. The foliage is great, and the architecture is nicely complementary without being overwhelming. It all frames the coaster well and creates a fun, cohesive end product. 90%
Valley of Huanglong is another beautifully crafted NCSO submission that showcases a high level of skill and creativity. While the theme itself could be seen as more generic, the custom architecture truly elevates it, helping the map stand out. The landscaping is lush and thoughtfully executed, and clever ride hacks, like the rapids entrance sign, add charm and personality. Even as someone who isn’t typically drawn to NCSO maps, I can’t deny how impressive this submission turned out.
It is so good to see so many NCSO and NCSO adjacent entries in this contest. I think it goes to show the state of the genre and how people are realising there is still depths to be plumbed for quality entries. Mulpje shows their experience and skill in this entry themed to the beautiful and dramatic landscapes of China.
The first thing I noticed upon opening the entry is that there is no music. Perhaps a small thing for some people, but I feel that it is an opportunity to add that layer of finish that needs to be present in a winning entry. That is not to say that this entry feels unfinished. The quality is extremely high, with fun and interesting techniques used to bring the theme to vivid reality. A significant macro moment is the station of the rapids ride. The lunging track of the coaster combined with the gentle curve of the trees outside make for a beautiful view. The buildings here develop the “asian buildings” meta in a satisfying way.
The dominant viewing angle appears to be “inside L”, where the cobra roll appears beneath the predrop curve. There is, of course, a footpath across the cobra roll, though this time it is much higher, accenting the corkscrews rather than the flat part at the bottom which results in a unique effect. The rest of the ride is very well integrated, with water and the rapids ride used to frame the elements and provide great layer separation.
A frustrating macro moment appears at the coaster entrance. This area forms an ugly dead end, and the entrance appears insignificant despite the cool ride sculpture. The solution to me seems obvious - allow the path to meet the rest of the path across the water forming a loop around the twist, then begin the ride entrance at the top of that loop, effectively rotating the sculpture 90% and letting the queue pass underneath it to best capitalise on the motif.
The rest of the park has several great supporting moments. The chairlift weaving by all the stone pillars makes for a picturesque moment, and the rapids weave nicely underneath the coaster, even if it has no real “moments” of its own. A more deliberate push in this area could have really elevated the entry. No more boring rapids rides, folks. Especially when you give them the best station in the whole park. The area with the blue roofs is probably the weakest area for architecture. The roofs appear kind of undeveloped compared to the brown and red roofs on the other side of the map.
All in all, this entry is very fun to look through, if lacking in a final bit of finesse to put it as a contender for best entry. I am very much anticipating your next release Mulpje, as this shows very obvious skill, intuition, and vision.
Score: 80%, with szechuan sauce.
Watch my initial reaction here!
As a fan of NCSO, one thing I don't like about NCSO would be the landscaping, which is often blocky, bland, and crude. This map, however, nails the geology and landscaping of the region it is trying to represent. I just love the waterfalls and the mostly aquatic nature of it, it is very beautiful.
There's a lot to respect here: those pagoda roofs are some of the best; I wouldn't have the patience to do that. There are very subtle trackitecture tricks, like the motion simulator coaster staircase, the raft umbrellas, or going the extra mile in the usage of mine train coaster tracks as rope when you could've used chairlift.
It is really cool that the coaster flies above mostly water, including a river rapids ride, which it interacts with at the station. The queue is also nice, with how guests wait above a waterfall and the entrance is flanked by a dragon.
Overall composition of the park seems very well done... it seems like there are three 'layers' in terms of height if that makes sense: the buildings and mountains, the foliage, and the water. These are all organized in such a way that. despite the dense foliage, there are very few blocked angles.
In summation, my only complaints would be the overuse of shop stalls for certain buildings... imo the Sujeonggwa and fried rice shops only look good as corner pieces. Otherwise, this is a very aesthetically pleasing and immersive entry, one that I would love to visit.
Stunning entry and probably my favorite so far. Excellent parkmaking combined with all the things i love about ncso, what more could i want.
The full tile landscaping is beautiful and along with the foliage create a lush and warm feeling atmosphere. Thoughtful choices create interesting moments and excentuate the amazing layout. I love for example Mountain Climber, the dive loop along the waterfall and the drop out of the station.
The architecture is nice, first and foremost the river rapids station. Such a cool shape and the use of benches for the wooden pillars is very charming. Although a touch simpler, the blue roofs are quite good too. The Kite Fighter station ties in well with the shapes of the rapids station for some visual consistency. But the far left building seems perhaps a touch undercooked to me, when compared to the others.
Theres also lots of cool building techniques and little tricks that are awesome. Love the trash cans as lanterns, i think they work rather well. Same goes for the chairlift supports with the diagonal mine train track. The smoke for Mountain Climber is another nice touch and the way the smoke is done for the hot noodles is even better! I wasnt aware of that technique with the vehicle behaviour on a 3x3 station! I guess similiarly done is also the river rapids vehicle for the sign - very nice!
All in all a fantastic entry Mulpje! Im glad you joined the contest and im impressed by how versatile your skillset is - cso, dkso and ncso. Looking forward to what you come up with next! My rating would be 85%, asoluetly love it! Cheers
This one was awesome, I loved the simplicity of the look paired with how tricky some of these NCSO effects are to put together. Deliberate and difficult yet easy to look at.
The area around the rapids entrance was standout for me, just really good trackitecture, use of non-standard objects like benches in the building and great use of colour.
Really enjoyed this one! The only thing holding it back for me was perhaps just a little more content, but I loved how readable and clear this was across the map. I had it as my 4th place entry.
The use of benches is phenomenal and I kick myself for not figuring that one out when I was trying to think of wooden pillars a few months ago lol. There's tons of cool tricks and ideas in here that all tie nicely together. I enjoyed how you integrated the turnaround into the waterfall.
Overall very clean entry with a good focus on landscaping and foliage which are done really well. Coaster integrated well into the landscaping and interacting with it, good job.
Personally not a big fan of the blue wooden coaster roofs but I understand why you'd went with it. I was really impressed by the little techniques you used here and there, really elevating this map and showing how skilled you are with the game: the rapid river queue entrance rocking boat, the smoke at the little free fall, the driving wheel at the twist ride, the chairlift supports,..
I probably missed some. Great work Mulpje!
This map is some clean NCSO, and I love it. Yes, Chinese temples are a classic theme that have been done many times before, but at the same time a level of NCSO execution like this is relatively rare, and I do think you put your own spin on it nicely. I know you also tend to gravitate more toward fantasy themes, so it was nice to see you explore something slightly different in that regard. I also want to highlight the use of track rooves on the red-colored temples, which is quite complex and very carefully executed from a technical standpoint to achieve some highly complex forms that would have been complex even for CSO. The buried noodle stall that acts as a sign/advertisement for one of the buildings is also a great detail; so subtle yet classy at the same time. Great work overall! I enjoyed this one.
I loved this map. At first glance it looks almost simple - the landscape, foliage, water, rides... it's definitely not the most novel of ideas overall. But everything is done fantastically well. Especially the landscaping and foliage, just the right amount of space between everything for it to breathe and stand out.
And then when you go a little deeper, there are lots of these little pockets of intricacy that are really impressive. They're so clean that you almost discount them as simplistic. The rooves are done in ways that I haven't personally seen done. The mine train vertical supports (I do not know how you did that). The ride is presented as the focus of the map, which makes sense for this contest. Just really great stuff, congrats.
Great landscaping, nice rockwork, great dramatic and some very vibrant and varied foliage. Some nice trackitecture roofs, mine train track is a good choice and those red pagoda roofs are especially well done, also a lot of nice use of base game stalls (And even the park entrance pieces, really clever)
Also a nice overall map shape and main coaster framing, with some very nice supporting rides (Custom chairlift is cool).
Aw yeah this is a really impressive entry. I absolutely love the atmosphere and Asian influence in everything. The colour choices are also great! The reds really make everything pop out! The coaster integration is the big winner for me in this park with some absolutely amazing moments with the path, other rides, and landscaping.
Foliage and Landscaping: I think this is my favourite foliage I've seen in these entries so far. The lush bushes and trees throughout work really well! The river bank foliage is really solid and I love the pops of pink from the flowers. I also really like your bush and tree selection. I'm a big fan of how you grouped things together rather than just mindlessly spam. This area here is amazing with the foliage, landscaping, and water
Speaking of the landscaping, it was done extremely well here. This almost looks like something from Vietnam with the pillar rocks jetting out from the water. I also absolutely love the waterfalls on the map edge also, it gives everything a really unique look.
Architecture: This is also really solid throughout this entry. I absolutely love the look of the wooden buildings and the uniqueness to every single building. I also really enjoyed how you incorporated movement into the architecture all over the park. There is so much character to this building below
This rapids station is also really impressive to me. I already saw it mentioned in the discord but the use of benches in this is really clever and looks great!
I do wish that you would have just stuck to using red for the coloured rooves instead of halving half of the park have red rooves and half have blue rooves. The blue seems a bit out of place to me. I also think this park could have benefitted from some more cliff side buildings with little string bridges between them.
Everything Else: I love the attention to detail spent on all of the flat rides. Your path choices also worked really well throughout this entire park. The little scenes throughout the park also really bring everything to life for me. I also really appreciate the chair lift ride that goes through the landscape.
Overall: I would rate this 80%. I'm really glad I checked this out! Great work!
Always a sucker for an Asian theme so this was right up my alley. Love the clean aesthetic and the landscaping in particular I thought was very strong. This felt like an rct-rendered painting, very well considered and filled with rich details. I'm a little iffy on the colors. I think they are the right balance, but I wonder if a palette with some more distinct tones of red, blue, yellow might have given this a more dreamy edge to it. The backside with the waterfalls and chairlift I really liked, felt very throwback in the best of ways to the kinds of parks I loved when first joining NE. Congrats on the design and placement!
