I like this very much. One of the highlights for me is the moving UFOs. You did a very good job on the architecture which really ropes you in in a very subtle way. I give this an 85. Very fun despite being a bit on the small side(as is mine but nevermind).

    -Concept: **

I was doubting whether to give 2 or 3 stars for concept, as it's quite unique, although we've seen a similar concept last year with Yucca. You've added some unique touches though, such as the destruction the alien invasion is causing, which I'm always a fan of :p

    -Content: **

Quite some content with all the architecture, little scenes, supporting rides/UFO's & destruction.

    -Quality: ***

Consistent quality throughout, especially some high quality destruction here :D

    Overall;

Really enjoyed going through this. All the destructive scenes were so well done, such as all the pipes leaking water, the cracks in the landscape, the crunch the destruction caused..

The UFO's throughout the map also gave the whole more movement and action. Especially love the ones above the coaster station destroying the roof, and the one beaming up people out of the blue house.

Also want to commend you on the soundtrack, really gave a great atmosphere mixing the traditional mars theme with the Danny Elfman Mars Attacks song!

I'm feeling old, Kumba told me you guys created something with this name and I didn't know RCT could do stuff like these track elements, really fluid-looking. Definitely nailed the aesthetic/atmosphere that I think I was going for (hard to remember too much from two decades ago) but seeing this and a lot of familiar names in this thread was pretty cool.

good to see you around phatage!

Nice to see you Phatage! And can I point out that basically all of the NE action is taken place at our Discord nowadays? There's a link at the bottom of the website..

Phatage coming out of the depths made this all worth it.

Thanks for the comments everyone, this was a really fun entry to build. Been wanting to put something together for NEDC for years now, so when the deadline was extended I was able to leap at the chance. The source material is one of my favorite things from "old" NE, so I wanted to pay respect to it in some way. The comments regarding lack of content are certainly valid and are due to the short timeline I had for this, but I decided to cut many of the ideas in favor of turning in a complete park. I'm still really happy with how it turned out, and was really glad to grab a top 5 spot!

Also, I really appreciate the impact the music has had. The Martian theme has always felt very Danny Elfman-esque to me, and was surprised by how similar it fits with the Mars Attacks! theme. It then blends into the Men in Black theme, another favorite of mine.

The torn-up landscaping is really awesome here.  I quite enjoyed how atmospheric this felt and all the movement around the map.  Maybe the most "alive" map I've seen through this contest in terms of movement.  The UFOs are nice all around, and the coaster fits nicely into this theme.  Great soundtrack as well.

Nin, just a classic entry here.  I really appreciate the landscaping you included to add a ton of visual interest and depth, framing the coaster so it didn't just feel like it was an afterthought which can sometimes be a problem with these contests.

Theme was fun too and just super cleanly done, displayed a real mastery of the game and artistic vision that is unique to you.  Also showed you don't need to use the most cutting edge or meta objects and techniques to create a top level map.  Thank you for this submission

This was so cool to see.  I loved that the Design is the star of the show and everything around it tells the story.  Support work is top notch, the architecture is very "Nin" in a good way.  the level of detail is there without going overboard with it.

I found it interesting that you have all this chaos and destruction taking place and yet there is this calm tractor hay-wagon ride taking place without a concern in the world.

Well done Nin.  Can always count on you to not disappoint.

Nothing says nin like a perfect blend of top-notch execution and childlike whimsy and fun.

+ Immediate strong first impressions with UFOs and tractor beams everywhere. Once you zoom in and look at the details, it keeps delivering. I could ramble about everything from the crashed cars and busted power lines to the men in black and

+ The earthquake-like faults are such a cool way to add a lot of dynamic landscaping and elevation. It almost looks like the coaster itself is the unfriendly invader ripping into the ground.

+ Nailed the Midwestern farm town feel. Reminds me a lot of our first pitches for what would ultimately become Yucca Desert Park. I can tell this was a result of some of your recent building challenge entries.

+ NE logo-shaped crop circle is a really fun touch I didn't catch at first.

+ Amazing placement of the sign with the crashed UFO in the middle of the turnaround. If this were an area in a realistic park, that would have to be the first thing you see walking in.

+ Power lines are so simple yet so effective!

+ Honestly hard for me to find a flaw here. Trust me, I looked around. I'm so glad you're back and loving this game again.

Really like the narrative of an American suburb under attack of a bunch of aliens. You nailed the vibe of it perfectly, with lovely archicture that brings you right there. Love all the rockwork coming, assuming, from the aliens attack. Lots of cool details here and there but my favorite is some coaster parts being beamed up as support, great idea.

Loved the addition of the crop circle train ride, personally I'd think a corn maze would have fit this theme a bit better. Or maybe I just watch Signs too many times. The electricity poles are an awesome feat in this map. Anyway, strong entry portraying a fun narrative. Well fun for us, not those rct peeps. Rip them.

This was a really fun entry, fun is something nin always provides!

I really liked the coaster color too, and as others have noted, the idea the coaster belongs to the aliens and they're suspending it over mid-air is neat

I think where your stuff really shines is where there's little stories dotted around the map, like the UFO crashing into the sign or the peeps being beemed up. I remember so many lovely scenes the bugs and bots team did that this felt reminiscent of.

    Late review!

I Just love how this is completely different from the other entries. It feels like I walked into a movie and we are getting spoiled with the action SCI-scene.

The way you did the rockwork and the scenes makes it easy for the viewer to imagine what happened just before and what is going to happen next - it tells a clear story.

    Lovely work Nin!
