Description
For one hundred years this oceanside village in Vestfjorden has been watched over by its guardian, Gus. They say Gus was carved into the mountainside as tribute to a display of great bravery in service of the townsfolk. What feats could have warranted such a memorial?

Man, that's a great walrus. I out did myself.
Good work overall. Couple of things I noticed. One tricky thing about making large sculptures is getting it to look more like the real thing and less like individual track pieces. I think some of the blending between the steel twister track could be more seamless. The other thing I'm not sure about are the slanted grand canyon wall pieces. They tend to stick out a little too much for my liking. You might have better luck using the interior portion of a volcano piece, similar to what Bear and Mulpje did on Dude Park.
Still, I liked the park a lot! The overview and colors are quite nice. The rustic, fjord-esque buildings are charming. The rockwork under the docks in particular is a great detail. The ride line-up is solid. I'm fond of the Chance Hyper.
It's a pretty great walrus. One of the best walruses out of all the walruses I've seen
@Blue great point on the slanty walls, thanks!
Very picturesque. Gus is a great display of great bravery in service of the townsfolk!
When I first opened the park it gave me the "New Asgardian" vibe from the Avenger moves. Really liked the small village setting. Sadly the walrus did not really work for me and had to relax my eyes to see it. Once I did, I could see it but would have missed it if I didnt know to look for it.
I also like the shark animatronic.
Nice park.
I thought this was great - definitely recognisable as Norway - I went to the fjords earlier in the summer and you've captured the atmosphere really well. Such charming little waterside buildings and decking etc. And the variety with all the little boats is very creative! The walrus sculpture (and the mini one) are super cute - obviously with CSO you'd be able to refine them but what you have is impressive (I love his whiskers especially). The only thing I found a bit off-putting is that the palette makes the peeps look a bit zombie-like haha
Very tasteful little park here. Some great placemaking with the village with cool little hacks and tricks. The coaster is cool, albeit small which could be said for the entire park! Left me wanting to see more.
This is charming, a great idea with the boats. The swing is brilliant. How did you do it with green water and normal water? haha I loved it. The shark is nice, a good idea. I really like the underwater structures we can see. The bumper was well thought out, it looks good. I loved your work; it's fun and different.
Theming is great, the walrus is a pretty good sculpture overall too. I would try to smooth it out more with different track pieces maybe, otherwise I do like it. Nice use of color too.
very charming park. Love the palette shenanigans to change the color of those rock walls, makes it seem a lot like dkso instead of ncso which is cool. Peep faces come as a negative but its no biggie for me.
I liked the boats and various peep scenes. Architecture is maybe a touch simple, but really recognizable. Otter Statue is really fun. Great job overall!
look at those boats! so cute! the archi is samey but in a way which really locks in the theme. Gus is so awesome, both the huge version and the small in the cutaway. filled with awesome little peep scenes and cool details. the bike rack and tyre tracks in the dirt for example are really effective.
however its pretty scant on the "design features" im really looking for when I'm voting in this category. first its pretty small, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when you have a more sparse feeling from the theme, it can leave it feeling less effective than a comparatively larger piece with the exact same contend.
the coaster seems a pretty rushed aspect of this particular piece, which is a shame. it seems an afterthought to the more striking aspects of the park. I could fully delete it and it wouldn't really affect the overall piece. in fact, when I do, the piece becomes more striking! it gives more of a spotlight to the walrus feature and the effective simplicity of the shoot the chute.
I think your ideas in combo with some effective curation from a more experienced player would be genuinely killer. you have talent coming out of your ears, it just needs more direction
Thanks Sam, you're totally right, by the way - the coaster is a supporting ride to the Splash boats. It's there because I like roller coasters
This was a cute little piece of RCT. It suffered a bit from the lack of clarity as to what was supposed to be the main ride, although I do understand it is the splash boats. The walrus sculpture is quite cool, even though it's really huge in scale. It reminds me a bit of the "Old Man in the Mountain" that used to exist in New Hampshire. You captured a distinct setting, that of Norway, within NCSO quite tastefully. I only wish there was a bit more content to go around to warrant a full design accolade, as well as the main ride being more clearly the main ride, and also a bit longer and more complex.
