Besides, the only place that kind of thing looks good is RCT3, but it's a lot of work.

Please, don't make me laugh. The technical graphics are very poor and the artistical style ain't much better. They shouldn't have made RCT3 before 2010 (2015 to be safe)
As far as inner theming goes (rct2), it's not very easy and strangely enough quite an uncharted territory of rct2. Mind that I'm not saying it rarely exist, but I've seen very little quality in it. It's as good as never the same quality as the outside of the attraction.

if I understood right an "advernture" ride is everything with a track which isn't a coaster. but I could be wrong.
  • Marshy%s's Photo
It can be any type of ride, as long as the 'passengers' are taken on some sort of adventure.
  • PyroPenguin%s's Photo
Like Marshy said, it doesn't matter what kind of ride it is. It could be a coaster even if you really wanted. The point is just to have a clear storyline, or at least discernible scenes. Normally it is not a coaster, more something along the lines of Indiana Jones. But you could probably make an argument that something like Expedition Everest is an adventure ride. Point being, you can enter whatever you want, but what will win will probably have the most flowing and developed story.

I have been thinking about the rules and want point out/change some things...

    - I have added an extra "Create your own round idea" round that will be due June 9th. Now you can use objectives from past PTs like: best hotel, funniest ride, best member theme, ect... and whatever else you can think up, so even: best super-hero, best maze, best chicken noodle stall, best crackhouse... whatever you want. I'll just judge based on quality. Also you can't use a park, don't try that.

    - If you have posted a screen or even released a very unfinished (I mean like a unfinished map with only a layout) ride you can use it. However points can be taken off if it has been seen before and it can't be a rejected NE design.

    Cool idea! :D

Btw, I guess that you meant July 9th ;)

Awesome!! But there are so many ideas you can use! Man, this is harder than that time I had to be Peter Griffin's stunt double on Family Guy. (Kudos to anyone who got that.)

For planning purposes... for the final pro tour entry, are we allowed to make our own bench or are we using the one provided? And is there a requlated size?
  • RCFanB&M%s's Photo
I was bored so I decided to make a logo for PT3. This is how I'd like the PT3 logo to look like...it's JUST AN IDEA WITH SOME DETAILS; of course I'd like to see something better than that, but that's the "design" I have in mind.

Anyway, this is only a suggestion.

The glory of the PT prelims in the past has been how diverse the entries have been within a certain catagory. There's no need for all these questions, build a ride how you interpret it, build it in your style. If you want a dark ride, build a dark ride, if you want it inside themed, then theme the inside, if not, don't. Just try and make the best entry possible, but do it how you want. There isn't a strict set of rules you have to abide by in this context.

Edit: Pyro, if that past 2 are anything to go by, we'll get a bench to work on, not sure how big, 100x100 or something?
  • Kumba%s's Photo
You cannot make your own bench for the finals. We will make a workbench and then post it after the prelims so that everyone starts at the same time. You will need to use the bench we provide and any dimporting will result in DQ.

Now you've really peaked my interest with the Bridge one...
  • FK+Coastermind%s's Photo
okay im having a problem opening the bench. its says 'missing object blahblahblah...' when i try to open it. its there any way that either i can import that object manually(id have to find out the exact on it is) or is there a way that you can have to many objects in your objects data folder. id really like to participate so if anyone had any suggestions it would be very much appreciated!!!

even though its already why buried in the topic, i agree that Runners Up should not be included. IMO runners up are like good parks but there not GREAT parks. if you can automatically advance by winning on of these having a good but not great park should not be included IMO.

cant wait to get started. i hope to attempt most of the prelims that way i ahve more of a chance at getting into PT3. just have to finish my RCT2 climb the ladder entry

which bench are you talking about?
    geehwzz's bench ?
you can better ask it in his topic than, there are more people complaining about that (I don't have the problem).

@ FK+Coastermind: you have copied all of the objects that were included in the .zip file, right? Just clearing up basics...
