So, no complaints other then the fact that it didn't have the instant wow factor...

I guess my "playoff preview" statement turned out to be true.

There has never been a tie in H2H before, but hey... there are first times for everything.
I would definitely like to take the time to thank everyone participating. This has seen an interest and electricity that I haven't seen around here for a while, and it's definitely spine-chilling in how exciting this has been. Of course, part of it may have also been the awesome college and pro football games I've been watching this weekend as well...
In any case, this will definitely take the title of "Bush VS Gore Matchup of the Year"

- The city/industrial theme is pulled of surprisingly well in this park, so you all get bonus points for that. The slime theming in the backlot of the urban atmosphere seems realistic yet not. Confusion reigns.
- Your two coasters are, well, both not the best. The inverted was the better of the two, but even still it could have been better. The zero-G roll is too tall and sticks out, and the lift does the same. You could have cut the amount of lift hill supports as well.
- As aforementioned, your coasters could have been better, especially the launched one. The tower had no support work, whatsoever. Throw in some S&S supports like Typhoon (or tsunami, some disaster) in Pyro's Aurora's Bay. It looks F-ugly without supports.
Hurricanes
- The simple theme works well here, and the landscaping is actually pretty good. I like the patches of grass and dirt left untouched, it really does give it a natural feel.
- You get mad bonus points for making a suspended, and the support work was great.
- You should have varied your building skins, because the buildings look monotonous.
- You did a good job making the park feel natural, something I havnt seen since LL parks (which is why RCT2 is a terrible game, cartoon shit).
My vote goes to the dreaded RCT2 park, only because the RCT LL park had some obvious problems in the coaster department. If you had supported the launch coaster and worked more on the invert, you prolly would have pulled my vote. I dont know why but that pissed me off for some reason.
VOTE- Hurricanes.
That is the conclusion that I fear too many people are going by in this voting; I can see it in what some people are posting. Not naming names, but a handful of people's conclusions were that Sierra Glen is nicer to look at and therefore deserves the vote. I also refer to the people who say that Symphony of Pollution is absolute shit to look at.
Yes, of course Sierra Glen is prettier than the Symphony. No shit. That's exactly the point of the park, to be a nice, natural looking, laid back work with soft colors and good aesthetics. And I will say, it doesn't do a bad job at achieving this. It flows nicely throughout and portrays a nice scene.
But Symphony of Pollution isn't trying to achieve a similar look at all. It's going for something completely different - a city that is technologically advanced, but also has problems with pollution and urban sprawl and industrial waste and all that. It's supposed to be ugly and gritty in parts. That's the look it's trying to convey. So when parts of it don't look like the nicest, cleanest-looking buildings or stuff you've ever seen, that's good in a way. It means that it's doing its job. Look at the title. It's not Symphony of Delight, or Symphony of Charm. It's of Pollution. What does that tell you about what it's trying to evoke?
It's not as though the makers were trying to make Symphony of Pollution pretty and failed because they did a shitty job, while the makers of Sierra Glen succeeded.
You can't evaluate Sierra Glen and Symphony of Pollution on the same plane at all because they're going for completely different things, almost polar opposites. Sierra Glen is supposed to be a nice scene. Symphony of Pollution is supposed to be a futuristic, hi-tech, yet in places gritty environment. You should evaluate them on how well they achieve what they were respectively trying to portray. It's not How Pretty Sierra Glen Looks vs. How Pretty Symphony of Pollution Looks. It's How Good of a Job Sierra Glen Does at Being Calm and Peaceful vs. How Good of a Job Symphony of Pollution Does at Being Futuristic and Gritty. I think that some people are judging the parks by the first of these criteria, when they should be judging by the second.
Corky put it well. It is CLASS vs. CLASH. But you can't say, "Class is better than Clash, therefore Sierra Glen is better." You have to say "How good is SG at being classy vs. how good is SoP at being clashing?"

While chapel may have said it in an asshole way, I, too, was IMed by many members of a certain team to vote their way. It's bullshit, no matter who does it.
However, it is slightly odd that this is getting so many votes...at a nice pace too
To the melody of jingle bells' verse..
It was two nights after New Year's eeeeeeve,
And we thought we had a small leeeeead,
When sudden-ly, there came a knocking at the door,
Two or three more members come to even up the score, HEY!
