Maybe this whole "extra registered members" thing is getting tiresome, I'm sorry if it is. I just think it deserves an inquiry.
My vote went to the Hurricanes because there park was very calming and had a nice classic feel to it while the MoLLesters park was jumbled and really a big mess Imo. The 1st half(The tan area. Couldn't find the name for it.) was all over the place. No well defined theme and a just a mess. The 2nd half(The grey area. Couldn't find the name for it.) was basic and simple. It was also stuff I've seen many, many, times.

Blah... I just tried making a poll and seeing if I could make results public, as in who voted for who, but you can do that with these forums. So bah. (in case anyone saw that topic for the ten seconds it existed and was wondering where it went)
I agree there needs to be a rule written for these situations.
I only say this as a suggustion, not because I want the Hurricanes to win.

I think maybe voting should be done differently. Maybe, your vote should be sent in a PM to someone trusted (thats not in H2H) so that it stops all the dummy votes and things. I seriously doubt people have actually been voting like this. This is the biggest lead either team has taken, there must be a way of corky checking whos voted what/when?
"All I can say is that this poll has been open twice as long as any others and the vote is still tied at 54-54. If there is a deadline set it will be one vote from some randomer or a bunch of instigated votes that win the contest and it will end up just being disputed.
There isn't anything in the rules about a tie but then again there is nothing in the rules about extending a vote if it is this close so I personally think there should be a tied rule written in and it be called as that and we move on. In all honesty, with no disrespect to the Vehemences, a draw is hardly a bad result for us Kumba it still leaves us 3 wins above the Vehemnces."
everyone knows dummy accounts are being used and either team will be pissed off if its called now as both teams have been ahead by 4 points at least once.

I wonder if things would be any different if you weren't on the Hurricanes team or the current scores were the other way around. I also find it incredible that whenever we get a vote the Hurricanes get one back usualy within 5 minutes.
Everyone bar Hurricanes members seems to think a draw is reasonable, understandably so, but see it from our point of view. It also gives a rule if anything like this is to happen again in the future.

Anyway, after conferring with Iris (hey, I'm still new!), and taking into account what you guys have said, I officially announce this matchup a TIE.
The official score of this match at the time it was called is:
Hurricanes 55
MoLLesters 55
The Hurricanes improve to 1-0-1
The MoLLesters improve to 1-0-1
The Hurricanes' Sierra Glen was made by slob and Drew.
The MoLLesters' Symphony of Pollution was made by Gutterflower and Thorpedo.
In looking at this, I actually gave the edge to SoP by a tiny margin because it seemed a bit more innovative. It was definitely stiff competition, of course, and I was rooting for my team all the way. I think slob and Drew went a little too classical here. Probably some more detail would have sealed it more solidly for us... but this was very Schuessler-esque, in the truest sense of the word.
Also, I am adding the following three rules to the rule book. They concern close matchups like ours as well as how ties will count in the overall standings. And the other one is season record tiebreakers.
- All matches from now on will have a maximum five day limit, or 120 hours after they are posted. A match may be called well before that if it is obvious that one park will win, but in the case of a very tight, back and forth matchup, the final score will be called exactly five days after the park is posted. During the regular season, the score will hold, win or tie. However, during the playoffs, should the score still be tied after exactly five days, a special "recount" will be issued. A new poll will be set up for exactly 24 hours before it is closed, featuring the same question, but ideally less time to allow for any "cheat" votes. Should that still result in a tie, a special impartial three or five person committee will be set up to judge the parks.
- In regular season standings, ties count less than wins but are better than losses. Mathematically, you could say a tie is like .49 wins. Upon the conclusion of the season, wins take precedence above all. For example, 5-2-0 is better than 4-2-1. 5-2-0 is also better than 4-1-2. However, should two teams have an equal number of wins, the team with less losses as the advantage. For example, 4-1-2 is better than 4-2-1, and 5-1-1 is better than 5-2-0.
- In the event two teams fighting for the same playoff spot, the tiebreak procedures go like this:1. The team with the better head to head record advances.
2. The team with the better record within its division advances.
3. The team with the better record against the other division advances.
4. The team with more total votes throughout the season (add up how many votes it got in each matchup) advances.
It's unlikely it'll ever get to the last one, but if it does, that's just my way of keeping voter turnout high, as it might come back to matter, even in a blowout. Votes will be counted according to what is listed in the SCORES thread. Those scores are whatever the score is when I post the first matchup for the following week, not what the score is when I officially call a match (since often, people still vote afterwards, and I encourage this).
fucking unbelievable.
thanks a whole lot for making that park with me drew; i definitley had a blast and you came through when you were needed. I'm sure it's pretty easy to see, but the suspended and most of the surrounding architecture/theming is mine, and Drew made most of the log flume, with the exception of the layout itself. awesome station for that log flume, by the way.
lastly, i realize that there were a bunch of small imperfections in the park, such as uncovered stalls and the like. it's not really an excuse, but we had hardly any time to finish up the park. i had to leave for park city on vacation and Drew came through for me to finish up the park. the end was very rushed and we didn't have time to check over for those minor things. i plan to go back and fix all those small problems. if anyone wants Sierra Glen v2, just PM me. good job mollesters.
