Wearing makeup and nail polish like a faggot doesn't make you refined. Why on earth would I buy a CD of them if I don't like them? I have taken the time to listen to most of those bands. Admittedly, I haven't heard the whole of their CD's, but there is good reason for that, they bore me. There just doesn't seem to be much energy into music created by the likes of the futureheads of bloc party
Fisheye; Yeah, they are all cheese, but that's what you get with old school rock...lots of cheese and hair. Back in the day I may have enjoyed them (a laughable though)...but this is 2005. Past their Sell by Date. They should look what happened to Metallica and quit while they are ahead.
I have what one would call a Refined taste

Anyway. Futureheads and Bloc Party are pure shit, granted. But The Arcade Fire (while overrated) is great. And The Pixies! Jesus. If it wasn't for the Pixies this little festival wouldn't even exist.
But if you want to watch gay emo bands wear chick clothes and prance around like fairies (My Chemical Romance), that's okay too. You just should probably reconsider your masculinity afterwards. -

Are... you serious? Dude, do some research. They were one of the biggest alternative bands of the late 80s/early 90s... recently got popular again thanks to a reunion. How could you NOT know about the Pixies?I'd never heard of the Pixies before they announced the lineup...

Thanks. I'll be the one laughing when I release my autobiographyNo wonder your music blows.
I was never alive between the 80s-90s...I am not American...which probably has reduced my chances of ever hearing of the music. But please don't judge me as a person by this. -

RECKONER! PA PA PA! *laser beam sounds*
Morning M'Lord seems to have a much better shot, judging from what little info I can decipher from the blog. I'm sure it's a safe bet that Arpeggi will be there, too. In the mean time, though, they need a record contract and Thom needs to get over his writer's block.
Also, Atlus: The Pixies were just as big in the UK as they were here, and are influential enough that their music has far outlasted their career (well, they're back together now anyway, obviously). And as much as you refuse to believe it, you won't be a successful musician if you don't know your past...and if you're playing rock music, the Pixies are a pretty huge part of your past. -

Kurt Cobain even admitted to ripping off the pixies quite a few times, so obviously they were definitely a big influence. -
