That's very intresting, but the problem is that there is still a train behind it. And you can't reduce the trains to one car. So you have some cars standing still, and the front one swinging. It does look really funny! I also experimented with log flumes, and they will stagger. But it looks really weird, and to actually convert it into a ride is very tricky. -

I just found another one! Build the inverted coaster station and give it a one car train. Set the length of the station so you can put the entrance and exit out of the way. Set the ride to Haunted House mode. The front car will flip over the track at long intervals. Change the track to crooked house. Add some theming so it looks like a swing! People can actually ride it!
Sounds very good!
But what exactly do you mean by " set the lenghth of the station so you can put the entrance and exit out of the way".... out of which way??? (sorry, I am not a great hacker yet, so need some more explanation on this sentence, please :' /> )
Thanlks in advance -

Emergo: so the entrace/exit aren't next to the flippng car. Making the station longer you can put them at the end of the station, where it is easier to disguise them.
I also found something else thanks to this. With the top spin mode it will go slower. And if you'll do the trick with virginia reel, it looks like a boat going over a wave.Edited by Akasha, 04 April 2006 - 01:32 PM.

I have been doing that with berserk mode for some time.
Gona use it in my solo for a custom space rings ride. -

Quick question. Yesterday I was working (just some simple zeroing/restoring clearences) and I zoom out to get a park overview and there is this like 500 foot tall 2*1 piece of land sticking up in an area of the map that I still hadn't gone near. I went to see if I could simply lower the land but it said "can not lower land here, too high!" Moments later, the land mass went away. Anyone have any idea what might have caused this? -

I call them "quakes", a random side effect from using the zero/restore clearance features in 8cars. Some are repairable, some are not. If you get one in your park, the best thing to do is "cap all land at max height" then simply try to lower the land to its desired height. If the "quake" happens to hit a rollercoaster or ride, it may make matters worse and not be repairable. I've also seen instances where after a "quake" hits, the effected piece of land cannot be lowered by no means (unless you know how to use WinHack).
Bottomline is you should always save your game under a new file name each and every time you use the zero/restore clearance feature. I've also gotten into the habit of zooming out everytime after I do a hack to make sure a "quake" has not struck my park.
Hopefully, that helps. -

You can lower that land with object manipulation if the cap land at max height doesn't work. -

I never saw these blacks holes in my parks... I hope that I won't face one of them... -

The merging concept seems so easy, yet I have so much trouble with it. I have tried a couple things, none of them working.
1. Build two peices next to each other, then build backwards, then forwards, as described by Kumba. As he says, in order to prevent white glithces, as soon as I click add peice, i press backspace, and a white peice is built replacing the peice that was there before. I've spent at least a couple hors trying to do it this way, and the same thing happens every time.
2. Raising the track peice above then lowering it. I do the color scheme thing, then check raise and lower, then set the raise/lower param to -2, then select alternative color scheme. Finally I press apply, and then 8 cars gets an error. I tried it atleast 10 times before giving up.
I'm completely lost. -

Have you selected the ride you work on in 8cars?The merging concept seems so easy, yet I have so much trouble with it. I have tried a couple things, none of them working.

Yep.
Oh, and I tried making a 1st Gen freefall, and it worked, so I guess thats a plus.
Any ideas?Edited by Hepta, 12 June 2006 - 06:58 PM.

I need help. Whenever I try to merge a multi-demensional coaster with a twister, I get an error trapper. I follow your directions as closely as possible. I am not sure whether or not I am reading it right, but I think I am. The error trapper comes when the coaster reaches the merged track. I have tried merging over and over and the same thing happens every time. is there any way to fix this? -
Rohn Starr Offline
If I remember reading this correctly somewhere, you can't properly merge these two track types. The 4D allows you to keep the train under the track while the twister doesn't. This is most likely your problem. -
LoneMarine Offline
Ok, thanks. but I also tried merging a woodie and twister a few times and got the same result. What's wrong with that? -
Rohn Starr Offline
That's one of the issues with hacking. Some people get the error trappers a lot, others don't And it could be another hack you've done in the park that's causing the error trapper to pop up when you try to do the merge.Ok, thanks. but I also tried merging a woodie and twister a few times and got the same result. What's wrong with that?

...
are you sure you not doing the hacks backwards, like lowering the second track instead of the first? That might just crash it, but I don't know. Maybe reinstall RCT2? -
Kumba Offline
What kinda twister?
Also I think Ling is right, you might have the track you want to merge on backwards, coz if you do you will get error trappers like you say you are getting, so make sure the tracks are being built with the games construction arrows going foward.
