panic, we've had so many realism arguments in that forum that having another one was spam, even moreso than my idioticness. i brought something new to the table if anything, and I still also think I own at least 51% of the site

That forum usually sucks as far as being interesting, I agree.

Lighten up, guys. It's a forum. Much worse shit happens in real life. As long as a topic isn't posting porn or obscenity or is posted for the ONLY sake of mindlessly flaming someone or posting pointless spam, leave it open. That's how NE's always been anyway.

So something like this topic, while a bit borderline on the "stupid thread" side of things, isn't quite enough to be closed, unless literally everyone starts erupting into flame wars and people start threatening to skin each other's kittens or something.

But I feel like I should explain myself. The realism topic was alright to me when it turned into a fake political showdown, because it was pretty funny and, as Phatage said, the topic of realism was getting pretty tiring. It crossed the line in my opinion when it became a series of bitchfights and the average post in the topic pretty much became "well fuck you." That and the fact that it was in the RCT Discussion forum of all places. Basic Chat? Would have been OK. Most of the topics in the RCT discussion forum are pretty substantial and intelligent, and the average post count in said substantial topics is like 20. Not a bad standard for discussion quality. So when a 60-post bitchfest invaded that forum and threatened to hit 80 and perhaps 100, I felt like I should put my foot down.

Woot. Most action this site has seen in ages.

I still don't see the point of censorship. So people won't shut up about realism... Ignore the topic? I guess that's a totally absurd suggestion, but it works for me. That's why I don't go into the Games and Polls forum.

And honestly, mods, do you think you're really all that necessary? This site survived on mostly inactive moderators for YEARS before you guys were deemed worth of such a meaningless title.

I don't want to name drop or anything, but you guys are going to end up like all the others...(RCT Station, RCT2.com...)
