Yeah, we all know that Linkin Park will always have its own style. You're not buying Linkin Park cd if you're only looking for old looking rock. Linkin Park takes out pop beats. One perfect exemple is the beating of the percussions after the 20 seconds of the new tune. There wouldn't be such beat with Metalica or any rock group. Linkin Park has its force : vampiring music : they retouch/ remix every second of the music with technology (sound program, all that stuff).

It's not for anyone, I agree, but I TOTALLY disagree that this group is for those «who haven't really discovered music yet». It's your opinion, but I'm pretty sure lot of peoples will think it crap.

yeah ride6 linkin park write emotional lyrics that really hit home to a lot of kids.

or at least they did, i don't know about the new album yet.

Linken Park was, is and always will be faux avant-garde pop music for people who haven't really discovered music yet. For a group of their popularity I don't hate them, but I can't say I like them or that a change towards softer balladry would change my current standing opinion.

Sorry for raining on your parade, but you clearly couldn't see the sun for the light anyway...

Compared to people like you who think they've discovered music yet but are actually listening to the same things everyone else is.

his voice annoys me just as much as kurt cobain's and that fag from guns and roses. jay-z was smart in collaborating with them ($$$$$) but it makes me look down on him artistically. also why would you need to "retouch/ remix every second of the music with technology (sound program, all that stuff)," anyways? is the music so shitty that you have to hide its shittiness in pro logic gloss? it's like photshopping a fugly fat chick into a two-dollar whore--it's horrible no matter which way you look at it.

Who are you to critize an artist for the medium they wish to work with? You use a fucking video game.

    i do?

Don't pretend to be better than the rest of us poor nerdy RCT players. You wouldn't have joined this forum if you didn't play.

If a band wants to use electronic effects on all of their music, it shouldn't be looked down upon any more than using a guitar or drums.

It's like a battle of pretentious up in here and I'm not even involved in it.
  • Midnight Aurora%s's Photo
You just wish you were good enough to join in on the pretension.

    *cough*

I can't argue with that analysis, as much as I'd like to be able to.

I'm just saying that I remember actually considering buying a Linkin Park cds back in middle school, and now when I look back on my music taste from then I'd say I didn't have a clue.

And Linkin Park are far from the only band using powerful pop & dance beats in their music. Bloc Party, The Arctic Monkeys, Beck, Radiohead, and TV On the Radio all do that to varried extents and freqency. And it's not like any of them are terribly far off the mainstream either...

not the point. if the song-writing's poor to begin with, nothing's going to save it.

that is, honestly, one of the most boring live performances i have ever seen.

Im with Tracid on this one.

Yeah, is it just me or is the lyrical tune in most of their songs the same?

I love Hybrid Theory, a couple songs on Meteora, and I think the new song sucks badly.

why are people even arguing over linkin park?there are far better bands with far better albums out this year.why not analyse them?

Because the far better bands aren't anywhere near as popular/well-known and aren't getting half of the publicity.

The new album really isn't that good. Sorry.
