DH, the building looks lovely right now.
we can see your finally getting the hang of this aspect, and thas great to see.
everything else is pretty dull as theyve all said.
    landscaping is your friend.
some people find it useful to start a project by landscaping; this means they go through dragging land up and down and use the mountain tool to smooth it out. some people may even do it by hand, which takes time, but is altogether more satisfying if you want a desired effect.
next is foliage. check out pictures on the internet, check outside when your out there. foliage is probably the easiest thing to do from real life, cause it really is everywhere. if things look natural, a lot of the time it will be asthetic, as it is familiar and makes a link in you head which will make viewing it more believable, thus more enjoyable. well for me that is.

I would not recommend doing that because I feel it locks you in too much.

Its whatever suits you best i guess. I do it all by hand as i go along, that way im not forced to have something at a different height if it doesn't look right.
I dont understand how people build on a premade landscape as it very difficult to plan in that much depth. You'd basically need to know how every single tile would work before you started which just isn't productive

Midnight Aurora: I'm not gonna even bother with you.

    JDP: That wasn't necessary.

Splitvision: That's cause there are no peeps, and I don't feel that's a justifiable reason, as I could say that about all non-peep friendly parks.

Comet: Thanks? I wanted it to be pretty basic, Foliage has been removed, so I can rework it.

SSSammy: I'm using the Build your own SFoT bench, so the whole park is not a flat field. But I agree, I could try to work something up with the landscape.

So what if I make my buildings blocky and boring? I'm not trying to win anything with this. I just need a break from Starbird while exams are going on. I'm having fun with this, and that's all that matters to me. If I wanna show you all a boring screen, that's up to me. I'm not leaving, and I'm not giving up this time.

c'mon dude, this is NE, of course people are going to harrass you for building something blocky and boring.

i also thought that all the comments made on the screen were rational, so maybe you shouldnt beat up the people who have taken the time to comment on your screen ;)

Thanks, RRP. At first I was like "Oh great, he's being sarcastic saying he's likes the mine train placement on the track." And then I was like "Oh, he means the railroad track." :-)

you still cant take criticism man.

though MA might have came across as harsh, he's absolutely right.
    and same with JDP.

i mean dude, does this look like a real place that you would want to visit in real life?
for me personally, thats a no.
though the ride itself may be fantastic, the theming of it just looks boring and bland from what i can see.
yes, i do realize that its a mine theme, and mine themes arent exactly the liveliest themes.
but you have to take into consideration the atmosphere of your project.
you even said it yourself in your starbird project, you need to work on the details that tie everything together.
well thought out details are what makes the atmosphere really pop out. right now, all i see is a fairly interesting wooden building, a decent looking coaster, and poorly placed trees.
its not exactly an immersive theme.
i understand your limitations, being that this is a non custom scenery park, but this should go for all of your projects.
take the time and plan and think things out man.
adding little details shows that YOU care about what you build, and will become evident in your work.
when thats the case, it will cause other people viewing your park to realize the thoughtfulness you, as a creator, put into this work, and will take the time out and enjoy your hard work.

ignore me if you want, and get all pissed off if you want, but here's just my honest opinion on your work.
you could be really good if you take the time out to really fine-tune your projects, and focus on creating a really immersive atmosphere.

    just saying man

Why are people obviously not going to like that screen

I actually did enjoy it and its simplicity gave me inspiration to build a little today
It reminded me that everything doesn't have to be so complex and detailed to look appealing

Also, maybe he posted it for our enjoyment, because he figured that since we go to an RCT site we like to see screens of RCT, so he provided us with one. Not really a big deal if he doesn't take the criticism given, hurts him more than you so why are you worrying about it

Nonono. I can mention many parks that looks more alive without peeps, than your screen would do even if filled with them. Sorry again for sounding harsh but that was my spontaneous reaction to the screen.

Thanks guys. Just keep in mind that although most of what has been shown is staying (and is just the beginning stages of something much bigger) these screens are simply to show certain ideas, tell a bit of a story, and are only meant to build interest. The actual park will be much better crafted than what was shown in the last SS (which was just to show the 'technology'. Much more care will be utilized when using it in the actual park).

rk, you quickly adjusted to the season, eh? :)
looks nice. your singlewide path solution for a multiwide path is very pragmatic. i've sometimes wanted to do it too but then never did.
