Ask the Experts / Merging Track problem

you said you had read all the tutorails you could find, so you have probably already read this one but seriosly, if you follow this tutorial step by step, you can't go wrong. This was how I first learned how to do it.

Thanks again dudes for trying to help me out.

Unfortunately, it still does not work.

I've tried it my way, Cena's way, SSSammy's way, RamSam's way, Turbin's way and Donald Trump's way. No dice.

And to SplitVision, yes that was the first tutorial I read and modeled my screenshots after.

RamSam I appreciate the offer for you to do it for me, but I don't have a park "ready to go" that just needs a custom ride. I want the ability to build a park with custom rides. I have many ideas.

Anyway, I purchased RCT2 recently. Maybe there's new code that disables merge track hacks? Thus, is there a patch?

Should I try the SOB trainer? Anything to do with zeroing clearances?

And is anyone successful merging tracks that runs Windows 98, like my dumb a$$?

These are the only things I can think of that are preventing this hack.
All other hacks work fine, for little or no reason.

    Thanks again.

hi. I have a quick question about merging to add to this, but I don't really want to make a new topic. I followed the tutorial Splitvision provided, and once the tracks were merged, I tried to test the coaster but it said Track Not a Complete circuit. Is this normal? Did I skip something?
sorry for cutting into the topic. :)

R.C., post a simply-worded step-by-step of how you do it. don't leave out any details. there has to be a reason, hacks have been done following these procedures since the trainer came out.

reflex, you need to change the ride mode to either Powered Launch or Boat Hire.

right click on the track and arrow through the track. whichever way the arrows go over the merge is the way you've merged for it to work, if it's not the way you want, do your merge the other way, meaning lower the other track down.

also, it doesn't have to be boat hire mode, powered launch will work just fine and is much better for testing.

power launched mode hitting an improper merge = crash
boat hire mode hitting an improper merge = error trapper

which would you rather have happen?

edit: also, R.C. good to see you over here. but why would you want to do a merged ride in the coaster designer? you're going to have to redo everything in the actual game.

    Wow. I'm a total F'n tard.

I had the lowered LIM track pointing in the opposite direction of the original. I just built backward without accounting for the reversed direction.

    Now it F'n works!!

Thanks so much for everyone's responses, and sorry I wasted your time by being an idiot. Although I did say that was probably the case earlier.
