The deal I have with RCT3 at the moment is that it's just unknown to us. We praise CD5's creations and others, yet when I look at this I really question if we truly know how 'good' something is in the game. With so few people here playing it regularly, how are we to know if it truly is 'good' or 'bad', when we technically don't know how far the creator went to make it.

Obviously, if something is visually impressive then we say it's good, which is obviously understood as that's the way the world works. Maybe I'm just referring to the fact that I don't know how far you went to actually make these structures since I can never build much of anything with the walls and roofs supplied by the core game.

Thanks everyone for the great compliments.

I get your point, the truth is, it really works the same object-wise as RCT2.
You have plain walls, windows, fences, balls, borders ect. If you look at the laterns on the brigde for expample, those golden decorations are seperate objects.
The very reason I posted this park here, is to get comments from another perspective. Every person with theme-park designing interest can see a colour is wrong, or a building is out of place.
Just don't think I place buildings as a whole, they're all build up, piece by piece.

    Thanks for the comment!

Oh boy, if only someone could fix this flimsy object window in RCT3 >___________>

that castle is just stunning, I actually had to refresh the site to believe it...

I can get your point of it being too much for an area, this type of building needs to have an open space to breathe and have a landscape to accompagny it, not a themed area next to it cuz in that case you won't do either of them justice.

all of your architecture is incredible, but I'm just wondering what the scenery to make that looks like. how much of it is actually you combining small architectural details to create a large structure? Like those diagonal arches, for example, did you make those from scratch or does that come ready-made in scenery? and a lot of the wall textures, as far as I remember, come ready made with windows and details. just those thoughts make me appreciate it a little less.

but that said, what you have is amazing, I wouldn't even realize I was looking at rct3 and not a graphic-modelling program!

maybe the castle is a little oversize compared with the rest of your stuff though.

Sorry to say this, but I have no Idea what you mean.. :p
Should I be insulted, or complimented, is it sarcasm?
Excuse me for my bad English..

And that is the exact reason I didn't use it.. It's just too much for such a space to handle.

I agree on the castle beeing oversided, that's why I removed it.
And I can understand it's hard to see what shapes are seperate objects and which are not.
That's why I put all the objects I used for the Castle structure next to the building.
To really give an impression of how RCT3 works, and how the "lego blocks" look.

I hope this gives an Idea of how RCT3 building with custom and ingame scenery works. ;)

Great to get so much response btw, just keep it coming!

BTW: how would you guys like this to become my sort of RCT3 Dump thread?
So that I can show other stuff I built, without having to create another topic..

this just shows that in its basic form RCT3 is just the same game as rct2 but simply with a 3D engine, I think its incredible you made this with such small detailling objects and I applaud you for what you've achieved in this game...

I think this also shows that RCT3 is same as RCT2/LL in the sense it can be used for both styles of parkmaking, what I see here is full blown Semi-realism with a great eye for detail and theming while taking a look at CD5's park showcases the more realistic parkmaking oriented style, personally I prefer this style over any other but I think we all get what I'm trying to say here.

leonidas: No no, it wasn't anything against you. I just complained about the RCT3 object list window ingame. If you install many CSO's, the slider gets smaller and smaller. And I think only 3 or 4 objects can be displayed at the same time withough scrolling?

Could you PM me a list of the custom scenery you use? Been meaning to give RCT3 another try.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
I think you'll find a lot in Neton user expansions but the more detailed stuff you'll have to search at atari.

love to see you here, leon..! I'm not alone..!
Those structures are always top notch..

    Incredible scenes.

You and CD5 should most definetly do a park together. You are both very talented, know what you're doing, and you understand RCT3. You could defiently pull off another Six Flags or a Cedar Fair property, or to hell with companies, you and CD5 could "found" a big family owned theme park in RCT3!

Think about it for a while.

^ Why? Why should he work with anyone?

I hate this culture of group parks.
  • That Guy%s's Photo
And just because there's a couple of good RCT players, that doesn't mean they can successfully pull off a duo anyway, you need to have similar styles for the work to look any good.
