meh, okay. care to try it with ll in windowed mode?
  • turbin3%s's Photo
    Works in LL-windowed mode. :)

how fluent is the recording playback? how many frameskips do you think it has?
  • Themeparkmaster%s's Photo
I just had a quick go with it and attached the result. The quality is very poor but it could probably be improved, this is literally just a 'record' and 'stop', no editing.

    Looks pretty cool though.

    Attached File  Video_Capture.wmv (39.29MB)

**Coaster is a design I started years ago that I intended on completing but I have moved on to different (and better) things***

Dont know, why it looks so foggy.

    cheers you two.

the smoothness is very poor. quite a let down. again i learn: screencams just don't perform well enough.

these things are filmed in rct2 also with hypercam:

now it looks pretty smooth to me.
the quality is poor but thats because the compression to youtube (and I rendered it with draft settings). the original files where good quality also.

capturing seems to be a bit of a crapshoot... I've never understood how people get good footage of games off of pc. I've seen good quality vids too but I've never managed to get any good quality footage myself. The best thing I've done on rct was the unfreez animated gif like on tempest which actually turned out pretty nice if you feel like going frame by frame heh.

well the computer where I filmed that footage on had 4 cores. so I assigned 1 core to rct2 (can just be done with compatability settings) and the other 3 cores where used by windows and the screencapture program.
now I have a computer with 8 cores so I really dont have to worry about the performance. just make sure the affinity is set right.

levis, i honestly don't think the smoothness is much different compared to tpm's or turbin's videos.

Levis that video in the link with the dramatic music is just fucking ridiculous, made me LOL.

Oh and Posix is right, it's still poor quality. Let's all stick to screens eh?

Do the gaming standbys Fraps / Camtasia / CamStudio not work for this? you can always dub in audio later.
