Fucking unprepared kids doing drugs just ruined skrillex.
He only got to play for fucking 20 minutes before they shut him down because a girl died in a part of the fair and everybody there went to skrilllex causing overcrowding.
Then those fucking country hicks just cussed out skrillex because he would've been arrested if he kept playing. So what did they want him to do? Play for 30 seconds more and then get thrown in jail?
Electric daisy carnival might never come back to dallas again. Just. Fucking. Great. -

I still don't consider Skrillex' music as dubstep.. I'd rather call it techno or hardstyle..
Awesome video though, his hair rules -

Ehh sorry but I don't think you have the slightest idea what techno or hardstyle is
He makes electro-house and dubstep last time i checked. techno and hardstyle are extremely different from these two -

He's more drum-step. Actually, I like to call it shitstep cuz its so increibly random and over-the-top, I just hate it. SM&NS is alright the rest is just odd to me. -

Ok, so I've been listening to this Skrillex chap. Certainly not dubstep, though I guess scary monsters and nice sprites has a dubstep beat, that's about as far as it goes. Didn't realise he was the lead singer for From First to Last before his Skrillex days. -

Actually. He only has a few dubstep filth songs. Scary monsters and nice sprites and First of the year (Equinox) are all I know of. He's more electro and house than dubstep though.
EDIT: I forgot rock n' roll also has a dubstep part towards the later part of the song. -

Electronic music is best when it doesnt try to fit into a sub genre. Things become generic and repetative as they try to establish a set theme then eventually die out.
Theres so many great electronic artists out there, why limit yourself?
Personally i find it funny when people try and pigeon hole tracks.
Mr. Oizo - Analog Worms Attack
Jamie xx - Far Nearer
flying lotus - 1983
Skream - Midnight Request Line
Burial - Southern Comfort
Four tet - Chiron
Modeselektor - Let Your Love Grow
etc,etc,etc
good tracks because theyre good electronic tracks, not because they're of some sub genre fad
Dubstep just reminds me of the 'student drum & bass' fad of a few years back. Where everything suddenly started sounding like pendulum -

Pendulum is still the best. None of those guys who produce on computers can stand up to a full-fledged band. -

Pendulum are a joke.Being able to play live doesnt justify re-releasing the same song with the same drum beat constantlyPendulum is still the best. None of those guys who produce on computers can stand up to a full-fledged band.

To each his own I guess. I admit the drum beats are very similar song to song, but the overall sound Pendulum produces is just awesome to me. -

Amen to that. They were once brilliant, in the days of Tarantula & their Voodoo People remix. Now they're not even Pendulum, but Knife Party. Their album is created with the same drum beat so they can easily play it live, I'd personally prefer them to stick to the studio and actually create a proper album.
As for Skrillex. I like 3 of his songs, All I Ask of You, Just The Way You Are remix & Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites. Funnily enough, the first two are Prog. House tunes, which are epic. I like Scary Monsters because it actually makes sense as a song...if you get me. Nice sprites are the quite, none bass parts, while the bassline is basically a 'scary monster' going OMMWURRRWAAABADAABEEE. Which is cool. I find most of his stuff hard to listen to tbh, I recently got Ruffneck which I stopped listening to within 3 or 4 plays. The Cinema remix is also just a bit of a mess to me, I'll stick with the Laidback Luke remix methinks.
As for dubstep as a whole, I've been listening to it for about 3 years, my favourite tunes are usually the more musical dubstep, such as early Caspa, Breakage & Burial. Fave tunes:
Claire McGuire - Ain't Nobody (Breakage Remix)

Deadmau5 - I Remember (Caspa Remix)

The Qemists - Dem Na Like Me (Subscape Dub)
