hi guys with the new iPhone set to be annouced next week, thought i would start off a topic for everyone topost there thoughts before and after annoucement

well personally i dont like the rumours that the screen will be taller i much prefer the idea of the screen edge to edge.

I don't get all the excitement for some dull phone which hasnt been revolutionary in ages because its always the same damn design. The ui is lame, no widgets in homescreens. The specs are mid-range while the phone is priced higher than most high end devices out there, like the SGSIII or the HTC One X. The screen size is very tiny compared to other devices, which is a personal thing, but i like bigger screens on a phone. Mean while years after Samsung copied some of apples ideas and design features, Apple sues everybody for making phones and tablets looking like theirs, while they havent been able to make a revultionairy design like forever since the first iphone came out theirselve.

The rumors say the iphone gets a slightly bigger screen, the same design (again), a headphoneplug on the lower end (watch out!!! change!!!!), almost the same software (kinda intuitive but nothing special) and probaly a better camera to post those hipster-ass pictures on instagram (better camera not recuired since people lower quality on instagram anyways).

Thats my opinion about the iphone5.

Well thats an opinion i guess. i just dont like the way it feels in you hand, its so non-smooth on the edges.
And i bouught this: over the iphone.
I was also talking about the capabilities not only the design which is just a preference. look it up, the iphone is way way less advanced as they tell you it is.
I agree the iphone looks better then the SGSIII but if thats what you get from my story you dont get the point.

Iphone has the best cooperation between soft- and hardware. There's no need for a 64Core processor @ 8,9ghz.

That's arguably because Apple controls the design of the device laterally and vertically (economically speaking). That said, my father's iPhone 4 is slower than my Galaxy Nexus at opening just about anything. I personally don't like the OS or lack of customization. The only things I do like are the ease of use with iTunes (how I organize my libraries) and the feel of the screen. No Android phone seems to have been able to replicate the solidness and delicateness of Apple's touch screens.

And Louis, I'll have to disagree with you there, I like the Samsung SG3 design way more than the iPhone. Wouldn't have either in white though.

iPhone looks better than Galaxy S3. But the S3 will probably perform better.
As far as phones go I love htc but I'm happy with my xperia active being able to whatsapp and water proof.

Itunes is the worst thing since Elvis died. I had a ipod touch for about 2 years, i hated how apple forced you to use one programm to do anything and lacked the posibility to enter the device via explorer. (I use spotify so that covers everything for me, the rest is on my google acount (apps n stuff))

As a former apple fanboy and owner of a 3G and 3GS, I will gladly say fuck apple. Got a HTC a few yeaes back and havent looked back. Its awesome. Have the S3 now.

This sucks. I wholeheartedly agree. However, I've tried Winamp, Windows Media Player, and... there was some other music program I tried a long time ago. Something to do with a bird. Anyway, none of them were easy to organize music in, and let you simply check/uncheck which playlists you want organized on your device. The "iPod" OS is better as well (that's the iPod app inside an iPhone or iPod Touch, and the actual OS of a Classic or older Mini/Nano), at least than this Google player thing that's on my Nexus. But since I can't plug an Android phone into my car stereo anyway, I don't really care. If I could, I'd sell my 160GB Classic in an instant.

really enjoyed reading your views on the iphone, the iphone does lack items but i supose jailbreak helps fix these little issues. as for the screen i really like the size of the screen but a little sxtra space would be nice. my opinion i am not a fan of the extremly big screens. i highly agree on the design does need a revamp, the 3gs shape was much better than the 4/4s, as for the rumors you mentioned are abit pointless but i guess they are just rumors.

i highly agreed on your pictures mate but i would of pitched in the 3gs there aswell cause the design wins hands down in my opinion i had a blackberry torch a while back and i didnt really enjoy it at all but each to there own

i think itunes is brilliant and very easy touse if you can be bothered to sort your music out and much better than wmp and others, plus looks nicer. the touch is amazingly good on the iphone and ihave owned android phones and blackberry touch screen and windows touch screen phone and none of them came close to the iphone touch screen.

iPhone looks better than Galaxy S3. But the S3 will probably perform better.

thanks for your opinion on the topic, i like the fact everything is on one program, but again personally choice. you could always use iFunbox to give you the explorer feel to the iPhone.

hope i replied to everyone if i missed you out sorry.. but thank you to everyone for your opinions and replys. i hope everyone enjoys talking about phones here, really enjoying reading peoples choices on phones. i may of biged up the 3gs but i do prefer the design and would like to have a design something similer tothe 3gs. i supose if rumors are true the "new" iPhone will be making itsway to public eyes on 12th of this month.

hope no one is offended here with any replys from myself or anyone else there surely is none intended, just opinions clash.

I also had my ipod jailbroken, i used to make my own themes even with clock and weather widgets. Most sofware based problems i have with IOS and Apple can be fixed indeed but 99% of the customers dont know or care about these solutions. And it also pretty hard to customize when you dont know how to (it takes time and attention to learn), so the user freindly customization is still not there. I am familiar with Ifunbox, but i still prefer Windows explorer because its way faster.

no no fanboy have given droid, bb and windows all a chance and i do prefer ios and the fun of jailbreaking and doing my own stuff so my iPhone looks totally different when unlocked. nice to here you had some sort of good time with customizing ios. does take abit of time to learn things but i feel well worth the time. and fair play about iFunbox but i just thought i would of mention it

I seriously dislike though that Apple acts like it invented everything and the 'superiority' feeling they try to sell. In the end the actual hardware still comes out of the same chinese chip factory as any other brand. In terms of hardware failures their laptop and desktops break down just as often actually compared to non-apple brands.

I'm getting fed-up with all the lawsuits of Apple lately. They know they are starting to lose the battle and say everything is 'stolen' (something they have been doing like the moment they were founded).

I end up really appreciating having a smartphone if just because it gives me shit to do when I've got time to kill somewhere away from my computer, like if I get to class 20 minutes early or have to wait to pick someone up or be picked up. The size of the screens allowing for a full keyboard is an ancillary bonus.

Same boat here. I'm tired of them suing everyone else in the market. I've heard they're doing poorly, but you wouldn't know it walking through any of their stores, or walking around any city. iPads and iPhones are fucking everywhere. 80% of the people I see must have iPhones (including half my family), and I understand that most of my time is spent on a university campus so I'm willing to compromise that down to 30%, but still, 30% of the entire market is fucking immense. I'm sure my phone, the Galaxy Nexus, or indeed all Nexus phones, make up less than a single percent of the entire industry. The "cater-to-the-lowest-common-technological-denominator" scheme is working fantastically, I think. But all phones in the industry have some feature or another that could be improved by being more like something else.

I feel the insane amounts of money and time they Apple is putting into all these lawsuits would be much better spent in R&D to improve the product.
