Wow. Thanks for all the replies. I'll take into account those suggestions when planning for those days.

Next time I'm in Vegas I'll make sure to catch him after the show and charm him back into playing rct once again.

So I just got back. Vegas was incredible. After having been there for two days I was still gazing at the sheer awesomness of Paradise.

 

We basically went to see all touristy things on the strip. Walking down the strip doesn't take just two hours. It took us 10. Didn't go to a show, although a lot of girls went to Chippendales and some guys went to David Copperfield. Both got good reviews from them.

 

Stratosphere was pretty cool. The XScream ride was less interesting than I hoped. The New York coaster was plainly horrible. My neck and head hurt. Circus Circus was closed when we got there.

 

I learned that if you're under 21 you can still drink and gamble. Heck, casinos even give you free drinks when you're gambling. We went to the Brooklyn Bowl where some band was playing which was pretty cool. The bouncer gave us free entrance for some reason and the bartender didn't check ID's. There was also some itallian restaurant that was happy to give us drinks. A classmate of mine had the good luck that Americans have a different date notation system. Her birthday was the first of August (01/08/1994), but Americans tend to read that as the eight of January.

 

It's also pretty funny how there's at least 2 starbucks in every hotel/casino. And a mcDonalds. And a Pizza Hut. And so on.

Well, you may have been able to get drinks but it wasn't legal. Gambling age is 18. Yeah, Starbucks and McDonald's are literally everywhere. Manhattan Express was terrible the last time I rode it, which was probably ten years ago... I can't imagine it's gotten any better. At least you didn't ride Desperado.

 

Very surprised about the drinks... that's enough grounds to put a lot of places out of business, or at least cost them their liquor licenses (which are very expensive).

I know it's not legal. I was very surprised how easy it was at some places to get alcohol. Thought it would be easier to score coke or meth there (not that I was planning to nor that I did).

it surprises you that someone underage was served alcohol? There are probably tens of thousands of places in America alone that serve people under the legal age. Then again, you think the gambling age is eighteen, so.

Gambling age is 18 in some states. It is in Idaho, and I'd assume Montana as well.

Actually, yes, it does surprise me because you can't even purchase alcohol at a grocery store without every single person in your party being carded. If every person is not over 21, you cannot make the purchase. Every bar I've ever been to cards both at the door and at the bar. Every restaurant cards everyone unless they look over 35 or so. It's not as common as your incredibly condescending tone makes it sound.

 

And yes, the gambling age is 18 in the majority of states, it just happens to be 21 in Nevada (my bad, I only gambled there once, probably for my 21st birthday - thought it was my 18th).

Depends on where you go, a lot of smaller places aren't super strict from my experience. Most Bars I've been to only card at the door if at all, must just be where you live.

Plus, you can always get a fake, usually pretty easy and most good ones go for under 100$. Can save you a lot of trouble.
