RCT Discussion / The best parks that never were.

I sometimes think of this. Which parks that were advertised at some point but never got finished and/or released are your favourites? Which losses are the most tragic?

Lost parks:

- X-sector's RCT2 park is an obvious one. Just magical. X-sector is a legend and he didn't even live up to ALL his potential...
- Kevin's Ports of Discovery. He never made a full park, unlike x-sector, so this is extra sad. The screens looked amazing. This would've been on par with artist's and Turtle's parks, if not better.
- RCTFAN's Project Toucan. It was heavily advertised when I came to NE and it blew me away. It was unlike anything else done in RCT up to that point, and I feel like through his screens and the objects he made that Project Toucan made RCTFAN one of the more influential parkmakers of all time. Despite not making that many parks. Shame that the park was lost and most screens too.
- Legends of Redwall by Jazz. I always liked Jazz and his work was getting better with each release. He's like a cleaner, slightly more down to earth version of x-sector.

Released:

- Slob's Thrillmatic 2
- Nate's Ouest
- Spartan's Lost Tours
- Steve's Animal Kingdom

All of these could've been milestones.

EDIT: How could I forget Vampyre?! Shame to hear it Steve, hope you are planning to try it again? I know nin would totally be down for that lol.

I checked out Spartan's Lost Tours the other day and was blown away.

 

Comparable to another unfinished gem: IOA Rome by Loopy. 

That lost Turtleman park was fucking sick, agreed.

 

And Maxwell, thanks but yeah those are done for. Animal Kingdom is at least.

Do we definitely have no downloads or screens of these? Surely some older folks could have copies. Or the parkmakers themselves

A tonne of RRP's unfinished RCT2 stuff; Midnight Runner, Sea Monster, Pleasure Island/American Adventure/Fun Factory.

Fatha's RCT2 version of BGSS purely because of the scale, and probably Fatha's scenario as well - would be great to see it cleaned up.

Steve's Kodiak Project.

Knott's by whoever ended up on that project [Gee/Rob etc.]

CP6's Little Worlds although hopefully that will be finished at some point.

 

There's probably more haha, but I wasn't around during the older generation so almost all of the above are on the respective people's profile pages. I know that Fk would say Emergo's Music-themed park, but I wasn't around then.

 

EDIT: I'd also probably add BRTeller's Epic Adventures from years ago over at TPR. Still have a download of that actually...was basically the best thing there at the time; coaster heavy and a little dated now but still an enjoyable park to open now and again.
