I agree that this is, in many ways, the medias fault. Or rather, it's the medias fault this thing is being blown out of proportion in the way it is, and the way in which Jessica Lynch is being singled out.

However George W. Bush is the one making heros out of whomever he can, for whatever his own reasons (he uses "hero" to describe just about everyone he doesn't describe as "evil", after all).

And indeed, why must we all turn this into a liberal vs. conservative thing? Seems quite, uh, silly.
