RCT Discussion / Park Updates

Just hit the object limit in Hersheypark, unsure how viable it is to actually finish without stripping out more than it's worth or waiting for the OpenRCT2 new savefile format. Anyone have any tips or thoughts on getting past this point? I can share the file if anyone wants to take a peek. e9J7sCk.jpg

Swap 1h for 4h objects everywhere you can, most notably walls, corner poles, and support columns.

Make sure you use walls instead of quarter locks for buildings, especially large ones.

Use full tile blocks over 1/4 tile whenever you can.

Looks great navalin!  But yeah, swapping 1h for 4h objects, being more efficient with path and foliage, things like that.  If you need someone to help with objects I can definitely do that.

Reviving an old LL piece. Fifteen minutes a day, this'll happen in 2020!

Fifteen minutes a day, this'll happen in 2020!

    What

    fifteen minutes:
    - open LL
    - open 4Cars
    - open Codex
    - open save file
    - rotate map seven times
    - place one bush
    - delete two bushes
    - spend remaining time debating raising one corner of one land tile

    and that's fifteen mniutes

  • csw%s's Photo

Well, at least that's better for Liam than 15 minutes of Open.

    Fifteen minutes:

    - open OpenRCT2

    and that's the fifteen minutes.

    Mythologica, 100 years.

Now that half the park is nearly done, I think I'm around 40%.

I still got to decide whether or not adding surroundings in the bottom right.

Currently regretting choosing such a large map size for my first attempt at RCT in years. Tempted to give this a small break whilst progress is slow and potentially do the grand tour contest. Learnt a lot so far from this build, but will continue on as I don't want to drop it now!

Thought I'd breathe some new life in this topic...

Canary Mines progress shot! The park itself is pretty much done, apart from filling in afew little spots and cleanup work. It's now mostly surroundings and landscaping. I reckon to get this done in two or three months.

Wow! Quick work Jappy. Really impressed how quickly you’ve built this. Very solid overview.

I'm also getting good progress on Ochsenbach. A 2020 release is possible but I think early 2021 is more realistic.

nice fred. This is looking to be your most authentic and personable park yet. I'm excited for it.

My park is progressing again. I decided to measure park progress by counting map data.

    September 27th 2020: 108618

    September 06th 2020: 104913

    July 4th 2020: 103876

    June 19th 2020: 101887

Will add more data when I'm on my other computer. :p

I can officially say I finished one RCT thing in 2020.

But this is the best quality you get until it's released.

  • FredD%s's Photo

I placed and themed the last ride in Ochsenbach. Now I have to do some foliage inside the park, outskirts (those will be kept short and simple), some stuff I want to redo, polishing here and there... I expected a 2021 release but it might just be I could finish this this year.
