Yeah, it took me a while to pick up on the jokes where he's "broadcasting" his life.I personally liked the last joke after he walks into the cabinet... "Ron Burgundy is DOWN... and it's NOT GOOD!"
Hilarious, though. -

Hello.
AvP is currently halted due to 4 cast members walking off the set.
Allegedly they claimed it wasn't worth their time since they weren't getting paid ebough for what they were being put through.
This is what I heard, but my source could be wrong. Mr. Anderson is having problems filling the roles currently.

Blade Trinity and I, Robot were both filmed in Vancouver. I go out for lunch every saturday to a favorite restruant and they were filming I, Robot around there. Parking was hell, whenever they film a movie there are about 50 semi-trailers. They film so many movies in Vancouver, we've been dubed Hollywood of the North. -

I as well cannot wait for the release of the new Resident Evil movie. It should prove quite interesting.
Hopefully its better than the first though. I'm hoping it stays true to the games as much as possible though. I doubt they will though.
Anyone know when the expected release for it is? -
Drew Offline
I believe September 10, or around there. Though, the release date changes a lot. It used to be in June, but kept moving back. -

Umm, I'm excited about all the movies..
I just gotta say, what do you expect from Spider-Man fighting choreography, its a comic its supposed to be a little corny, like in Hulk where you get all those Comic book like cut out scenes on the screen. By the way here's the list for 04 super-hero movies.
Hellboy - umm don't really know him, but i'll give him a shot.
Punisher - been waitin for a redo on it.
Constantine - by the Keanu Reeves would be great for this character, by the way he IS in it as
Constantine, if you don't know about it, look it up on Yahoo. its a little complicated
story but good one.
Spider-Man 2 - should be grade A movie, atleast i think so.
Blade Trinity - And so ends the Blade movie series, I think its gonna be good, by the Wesly is
possibly doing another super-hero, the Black Panther....sorta like Daredevil only
he's not blind.
Catwoman - umm the whole Halle Barry in that suit? blech, if they change the costume it MIGHT be
good, after all their was a black actor for KingPin, but he fit the role PERFECTLY. So
maybe Halle can do it.
Residen Evil : Apocolypse - i know this may come off a little weird, but the comic company named
Vertigo, makes comics off of Resident Evil, and Spawn. so i sorta
consider it a comic book/vid game.
for 05
Fantastic Four - they can't get their heads out of their ass's to start filming.
Iron Man - I think this is going to be a smash hit.
DareDevil 2 - umm, Ben Affleck is still in talks might be pushed back further.
Elektra - comes out very early, it may come in 04 since they started filming 2 months after DareDevil.
Batman vs. Superman - umm i think this is dead, but it could've been cool.
Batman : Year One - its in the trash.
Batman : Intimidation - full speed ahead matey, we just need a good villain for it.
Spawn 2 - this is rather, for now in the trash.
Hulk 2 - considering how bad it did in box office (despite good revenue it did not hit the necessary
amount to pay for the film) it could be saia nara.
Umm thats really all i got for super-hero flicks..
I'm gonna go and see all of em ofcourse, but yeah.
Everything thats been listed so far, i'm gonna see. maybe i'll skip some of the horror flicks (I've hated them since day one) but overall this looks like a good year, i think that Scooby Doo and Garfield are gonna be great kid flicks, and hopefully they won't screw up Scooby Doo like they did at the end of the first one.

I expected something interesting, something that might actually be entertaining. What I was not expecting was punch, block, punch over and over again. The final fight in Spider-Man is maybe the worst comic book fight I've ever seen.
The Hulk's editing was far from corny, in fact, it was some of the most original editing of the year. Corny is not the problem, Spider-Man's fights were just boring and seemed to be derived from an episode of Power Rangers Turbo or whatever. Compare Nightcrawler's raid on the White House in X-2 (probably the best example of a superhero fight ever created) to Spider-Man's lame fight vs Gobby at the end. Not even fucking close. -

to Ed, no i do'nt just watch comic movies, i like them a lot thats all. I've always been into comics.
and yeah, the worst scene i thought, when i think about it now, was the parade scene. the last fight where Gobby has his little accident i thought was actually better somewhat.
Seeing how Dock. Ock a little different in fighting styles than Goblin, i think its gonna be actually better. the tentacles are his main fighting forces, and you can't actually use Power Ranger fighting well enough for that.
I am excited also to see the big movies that have already been listed so far, i only put the comic book movies that are coming, just for the fun thats all.
sorry when i said listed so far, i met in the thread, not in my post alone. -

September - this month sucks...
September is really slow this year (that we know about so far). The thing about the rest of the list is that alot of the smaller films that will be coming are getting picked up by distribution and production companies now and in the very near future as the Sundance Film Festival and other festivals run their course. Films like Garden State, which is getting rave reviews at Sundance right now do not have release dates or anything yet. Hence, the rest of the list will be relatively sparse.
The Forgotten - 9/24/04 (no trailer availible)
Cast: Julianne Moore (Telly Paretta), Dominic West, Gary Sinise, Anthony Edwards, Linus Roache, Alfre Woodard; other cast not announced yet.
Premise: A single mother, Telly Paretta (Moore), whose 8-year-old son has recently disappeared during an airplane crash (and whom she fears might be dead), seeks the help of a psychiatrist (Sinise) to cope with the pain of her grief, only to be told that her son is merely a figment of her imagination, with her mind making up eight years of false memories. When she meets a father (West) who has had another similar experience with his own disappearing daughter recently, the two team up to try to find the answers behind what appears to be some sort of otherworldly case of mass kidnapping (by aliens? or... something else?).
Looking over the list of sure release dates, September looks horrible. Resident Evil 2 will surely not be much better than the original (meaning, it will probably suck). Constantine looks completely dull (and we know almost nothing about it yet). That leaves us with this, which could be pretty interesting. I'm always up for conspiracy stories.

Others that might be worth looking at: Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Constantine, Wimbledon. -

October
Shark Tale - 10/1/04 (no trailer availible, click title for official website)
Cast: (voices) Will Smith (Oscar), Robert De Niro (Don Lino), Renee Zellweger (Angie), Angelina Jolie (Lola), Jack Black (Lenny the Shark), Martin Scorsese (Sykes the Pufferfish), Peter Falk (Don Brizzi), Michael Imperioli (Frankie the Shark), Vincent Pastore (Willie the Killer Whale), Kevin Pollak (Luca the Octopus), Doug E. Doug (Ernie the Jellyfish), Ziggy Marley (Bernie the Octopus
Premise: This mafia movie, set in the world of saltwater fish, is the story of what happens when the son of the shark boss (De Niro) of a fish crime family is killed (by a dropped anchor), and a bottom-feeder named Oscar (Smith) is found at the scene of the crime. Hoping to win favor with the enemies of the ganglord, the fast-talking hustler poses as the killer known as the "sharkslayer", but soon learns it's a dangerous game in a world where the big fish generally eat the little fish...
The second CGI animated film from Dreamworks this year looks like a doozy. A mafia movie set underwater, starring people like Will Smith, Bobby Deniro, Martin Scorcese, and Jack Black. And it will be rated PG-13. Count me in.

J.M. Barrie's Neverland - 10/22/04 (no trailer availible)
CastJohnny Depp (James Matthew Barrie), Dustin Hoffman (Charles Frohman), Kate Winslet (Sylvia Davies), Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell, Vanessa Redgrave, Kate Maberly, Kelly Macdonald, Paul Whitehorse; other cast not announced yet.
Premise: Set in early 1900s London, this is the true story of how Scottish playwright and author James M. Barrie (Depp) struggled to bring to the stage for the first time a play called "Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up", which was inspired by his friendship with his neighbors, the Davies Brothers, George, Jack, Michael and Peter, whose father had abandoned them, and their dying mother, Sylvia (Winslet). As Barrie found himself becoming a surrogate father and role-model to the boys, and comfort to his dying neighbor, he was inspired to write a play about a magical place where people never grow up or die or have any worries... a Never-Neverland. (Hoffman plays American stage producer Charles Frohman, Barrie's best friend and main financial backer; Frohman was on the Lusitania when it sunk in 1915 during World War I)
One of the first "art" films we know about coming for this fall and winter (partly because it was supposed to come out last month but got pushed back to here). Johnny Depp in a powerful emotional role that could land him as a favorite for Best Actor at next year's Oscars. This is one of my most anticipated simply for Johnny Depp. I think this marks the first time in a long while where I have actually been excited about Miramax's "prestige" picture. (Shakespeare in Love, Chocolat, Chicago, etc... none of them have interested me) -

November
Alexander - 11/5/04 (no trailer availible)
Cast: Colin Farrell (Alexander the Great), Rosario Dawson (Roxanne), Anthony Hopkins (Ptolemy), Angelina Jolie (Olympia), Val Kilmer (Philip, King of Macedonia), Jared Leto (Hephaistion), Connor Paolo (Young Alexander), Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (Cassander), Ian Beattie (Antiginous), Brian Blessed, Elliot Cowan (Young Ptolemy), Rory McCann (Bogoas), Joseph Morgan (Philotas); other cast not announced yet.
Premise: Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great (Farrell) led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia, Alexander led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, and finally made his way east to India. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate, Hephaistion (Leto). Alexander died young, of illness, at 33. Alexander's conquests paved the way for the spread of Greek culture (facilitating the spread of Christianity centuries later), and removed many of the obstacles that might have prevented the expansion of the Roman Empire. In other words, the world we know today might never have been if not for Alexander's bloody, yet unifying, conquest
I'm extremely excited about this film. An absolute epic (and I'm an epic whore) from Oliver Stone (who I consider to be overrated most of the time, but that's another story). I love the casting of Colin Farrell as Alexander the Great. He's an upcoming star, and this will be the first time we have REALLY been able to see his acting chops since the "Tigerland" in 2000.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Incredibles - 11/5/04 (click title for trailer)
Cast: (voices) Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Samuel L Jackson (Frozon), Holly Hunter, Jason Lee, John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Brad Bird (E!); other cast not announced yet.
Premise: This film's story revolves around the dysfunctional family problems that come up when everyone works together as a superteam (you know, sort of like The Fantastic Four) called the Incredibles. Specifically, the Incredibles are a family of superheroes trying to live a quiet life in the suburbs (placed there by the Witness Protection program to hide them from one of their supervillains) who find themselves called into action to save the world, led by the pater familias, Mr. Incredible (Nelson), whose better days as a superhero appear to be behind him.
Everything that Pixar touches turns to Gold. Perhaps, by combining the Pixar touch with the Brad Bird touch (the mind behind The Iron Giant) will turn this film platinum. It looks great.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Polar Express - 11/10/04 (click title for trailer)
Cast: Tom Hanks (The Conductor), Chris Coppola (Toothless), Eddie Deezen (Know it All), Ed Gale (Elf Lieutenant), Nona Gaye (Holly), Josh Hutcherson (Hero Boy), Michael Jeter (Smokey and Steamer), Hayden McFarland (Lonely Boy, Billy), Connor Matheus (Toothless), Jimmy "Jax" Pinchak (Know-it-All), Julene Renee, Peter Scolari (Lonely Boy), Chantel Valdivieso (Holly)
Premise: Believing in Santa Claus isn't easy when all of your friends and family insist he's just make-believe. A boy's faith is rewarded one Christmas Eve when he's awakened by a steam train that pulls up in front of his house and takes him and other children to the North Pole to meet Santa. (Tom Hanks plays the train's conductor).
There is an obscene amount of animated films coming out next year. This is one of the most interesting. Using new technology, it will try to look more realistic but also at the same time highly stylized. You can see that the conductor looks very much like Tom Hanks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie - 11/19/04 (click title for trailer)
Come on, it's SPONGEBOB!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Others that could be worth checking out: The Ring 2, The Flight of the Phoenix. -

December - THE END
Ocean's Twelve - 12/10/04 (no trailer availible)
Cast: George Clooney (Danny Ocean), Julia Roberts (Tess Ocean), Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell), Brad Pitt (Dusty Ryan), Casey Affleck (Virgil Malloy), Scott Caan (Turk Malloy), Vincent Cassel, Don Cheadle (Basher Tarr), Andy Garcia (Terrence "Terry" Benedict), Elliott Gould (Reuben Tishkoff), Eddie Jemison (Livingston Dell), Bernie Mac (Frank Catton), Shaobo Qin (Yen), Carl Reiner (Saul Bloom); other cast not announced yet.
Premise: Danny Ocean (Clooney), reignited flame Tess (Roberts) and the rest of a band of thieves and con men (some returning and some new), team up for another three huge heists, but this time they're in three different locations (Rome, Paris and Amsterdam) (perhaps handled by three groups of four thieves each?). In Amsterdam, the prize is Rembrandt's "De Nachtwacht" painting, which resides at the Rijksmuseum. Meanwhile, casino owner Terry Benedict (Garcia), whom Ocean and crew ripped off in Las Vegas, is hot on their tail, looking for revenge...
The first one was a fun and stylish caper flick. I am expecting no less from this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Aviator - 12/17/04 (no trailer availible)
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio (Howard Robard Hughes, Jr.), Alan Alda (Senator Brewster), Alec Baldwin (Juan Tripp), Kate Beckinsale (Ava Gardner), Cate Blanchett (Katharine Hepburn), Frances Conroy (Kit Hepburn), Willem Dafoe (cameo), Kelli Garner (Faith Domergue), Sam Hennings, Ian Holm, Danny Huston (Jack Frye), Vincent Laresca (Jorge), Jude Law (Errol Flynn), Josie Maran, Matt Ross (Glenn Odekirk), Nellie Sciutto (Nadine Henley), Adam Scott, Justin Shilton, Brent Spiner (Robert Gross), Gwen Stefani (Jean Harlow, Chris Ufland, Rufus Wainwright
Premise: Focusing on his early years (from the 1930 production of 'Hell's Angels' to the 1947 test flight of the Blue Spruce, when he was 42), this is the story of how young Howard Hughes transformed a small fortune into a massive one. The son of the Texan inventor of an amazing drill bit who died when he was 18, leaving him with 75% of the "Hughes Tool Co.", Howard Hughes (DiCaprio) quickly moved to Los Angeles to become a Hollywood film producer, where he helped launch the career of Jean Harlow and other starlets, and producing such classics as Hell's Angels, The Front Page, Flying Leathernecks, and Scarface (the 1932 original), eventually owning RKO Pictures. Hughes' legend came not from focusing on just Hollywood, however, as he simultaneously branched into industry after industry, including aviation in 1932 (including TWA Airlines), and during WWII, defense, leading to the creation of the (infamous) Spruce Goose, a flying boat of immense size. After WWII, Hughes' expansions continued, with an electronics company that was integral to the evolution of the satellite, and Hughes' several Las Vegas casinos (though this film may be ending before he moves there). This film will also focus on Hughes' romances with Hollywood stars like Katherine Hepburn (Blanchett) and Ava Gardner (Beckinsale). (Huston plays the president of TWA; Baldwin plays the president of their competitor, Pan Am).
Director Martin Scorcese returns with a film about the crazy guy who designed the Spruce Goose. With that cast, It should be damn good. A very early Oscar frontrunner
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cinderella Man] - 12/17/04 (no trailer availible
Cast: Russell Crowe (Jim Braddock), Renee Zellweger (Mrs. Braddock), Craig Bierko (Max Baer), Paul Giamatti; other cast not announced as confirmed yet.
Premise: Set in New York during the Depression, this is the story of James Braddock (Crowe), who takes up boxing to make money to feed his family, and ends up becoming quite famous in the process, eventually going up against champ Max Baer (Bierko), who was notorious for having killed two men in the ring... (Braddock's record is available at the link below; beware "spoilers"; Zellweger plays his wife).
Ron Howard and Russell Crowe team up again. Hopefully it turns out at least as good as their last team up, A Beautiful Mind... which was a very good film, but nowhere near deserving Best Picture.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Others that might be worth checking out:Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (never read the books, but I heard they're amazing), Meet the Fockers (the first was hilarious, but sequels like these never tend to work out), The Phantom of the Opera (the first of the "new" generation of musicals I'm actually interested in. -

Conclusion:
Well, thats it for the official stuff... now there is PLENTY left from this year that has not been given release dates yet, I won't go all out on the rest of these because frankly I'm kind of sick of doing this, but here are some to look out for whenever the studios decide to plop them in theaters.
------------------------------------------------------
The Brothers Grimm - From Terry Gilliam, this should be masterful.
The Manchurian Candidate - Denzel Washington in the remake of the classic.
Garden State - It's been getting rave reviews
------------------------------------------------------
Even this isn't nearly everything. There is stuff we know next to nothing about (The Life Aquatic from Wes Anderson) and stuff we have not even heard of that will come out of nowhere to be critical favorites. With that said, and with what we do know about the year, here is my prediction for my Top 10 Favorites of this new year
1. Troy
2. The Passion of the Christ
3. The Incredibles
4. Alexander
5. The Brothers Grimm
6. JM Barrie’s Neverland
7. Shrek 2
8. The Life Aquatic
9. Kill Bill Volume 2
10. Shark Tale -
