Sorry, but that's your opinion.
and frankly, the lyric you showed didn't have any weight beyond what is written there(and while the sentiment is mature and well pronounced, it really isn't anything special). You see with most good music, there is an emotional impact that comes from the sum of all that is present(the beat, the melody, the vocals, the instruments, etc). With rap, all that is present is a preset beat, and some guy just SAYING words to that beat. All poetry is lyrical by the way, and if you really wanted to, you could recite almost any piece of poetry with the same kind of voice and speach you would use for rap. Rap is poetry with a physical beat attached, so if you are comparing him to great poets, then he loses. Live with it.

Then again, maybe rap has some sort of emotional impact for you that I'm just not getting. Oh well.

You should check out some Marty Friedman albums, too. He's an awesome guitarist...

Anyways, yea...I prefer rock/alternative/metal.
