Hey, I saw this topic awhile back and wanted to post some of my personal favorite things in my parks, as I'm sure few have ever downloaded my work, and my work is easily forgettable. :)

( I apologize for the absolutly ridiculous picture sizes. )

    http://rctx.net/SCR8.gif

^ This is my creation of Mount Rushmore in a park for a RCT Station contest wayback when. Obviously it could be done better these days, but I thought it was pretty creative for back when I built it (I didnt even know I had this park!)

    http://rctx.net/SCR4.gif

^ This was my first MegaPark, Big City. I just thought it was cool cuz it was an 'actual' city. I dont think many people have seen it, but its pretty original to say the least (early 2001?)

    http://rctx.net/SCR5.gif

^ Again from Big City, just thought I'd point out the cars on the roads, I individually hacked all 100+ street cars with the build station/open ride/close ride/sink/etc method...it took quite a while, now thats dedication! (Also notice the telephone poles/wires...)

    http://rctx.net/SCR18.gif

^ This was from an old project, Honululu Xtreme, as far as I know it was the first real 'wave pool' (although Evil WME did it much better and actually released it around the same time)... I thought it was very orginal.

    http://rctx.net/SCR6.gif

^ This was my first real sculpture, something I have grown a liking to building. This was from my Hi-Rollers Entry Nightmare Lake. Its the devil...

    http://rctx.net/SCR9.gif

^ This was my entry, Paradise Lost, to the first Pro Tour here at NE. It was for the Hotel Round (entered in the bonus round, placed last...). I honestly thought this was one of the best things I've ever built...I thing its spot on to how I wanted it to look...

    http://rctx.net/SCR10.gif

^ Here's the backside of Paradise Lost, my Pelican sculpture (he's a little plump), notice the caves on the rock along the beach...

    http://rctx.net/SCR11.gif

^ This is just another close up of Paradise Lost... (notice the 'dolphins' in lower left corner)

    http://rctx.net/SCR12.gif

^ Easily my best finished work ever, this is from Roswell, a entry to a RCTHQ contest. I placed second in it, but I had more fun working on this mini park than any park ever. This is my Alien sculpture...(basic design based off Evil WME's alien)...I think its the sweetest sculpture ever, but I'm a tad biast, huh? Those are Ray-Guns shooting at the Alien as well....

    http://rctx.net/SCR13.gif

^ Another view from Roswell, this is of the main coaster, Extraterrestial...Prolly my favorite coaster ever built. An aircraft station is situated in front of the coaster.

    http://rctx.net/SCR19.gif

^ This is from Urban Midnight with ride6. This was a crane sculpture working on a building...realistic I think...

    http://rctx.net/SCR15.gif

^ This is from a Sea World park I was working on, its a 'Shamu' stone scuplture near the entrance to the park, behind it is a windowed cafe...I've always liked that part of the park.

    http://rctx.net/SCR16.gif

^ This is the 'real' 'Shamu' in the park...Another pretty realistic sculpture in my opinion...

    http://rctx.net/SCR17.gif

^ Another Screen from the Sea World park, I've just always enjoyed the little part with the water under the bridge near the top.

    http://rctx.net/SCR14.gif

^ Lol. This was from entry to the second Pro Tour Funniest Park Round. The park was "Holy Cow!", and it consists of a few subtle/not-so-subtle slapstick humor in it. This was the main sculpture...it doesnt get much better than this...A giant cow with a halo, smokin a cigar....

    http://rctx.net/SCR3.gif

^ A screenshot I found from a park I must have started, I forgot about it, but it looks pretty cool.

So there you go, sorry for the large images. I strayed a tad from the topic of 'little things'...but i just thought I'd share some old LL work.

    Thanks,
    BigFoot

What a pity (I think) that some people don't understand the title of this topic:

    "The little things".

For me it is exactly the showing of these "little things" that made this such an interesting and awfully charming gem of a topic.

By now it seems that more and more people are just using this topic to show their/old/unrecognized/unfinished or whatever parks in a lot of screens that absolutely don't have any associaton with "little things".

Don't even view them after the first one, for I think there are other topics to see these kind of things, if I would want to (or start one of your own, I would say).

Am I the only one who regrets it that this so beautiful and unique topic is getting under-average by this? :(

Just wanted to give a big thanks to MoD and trav for doing write-ups on RMM in this thread. I didn't even notice them until today (and what a pleasant surprise!).

And trav, regarding your question about RCT years vs. real time. I believe that 1 RCT year is equivilent to appx 45 minutes. But 243 RCT years isn't totally accurate for RMM considering the year reset to zero when I imported objects, which was around thte 25% completion mark. Therefore, I'd say that theres 300 RCT years in RMM, which is appx:

    135,000 minutes = 225 hours

    DAMN!

Anyway, thanks guys. Its very motivating to see people take the time to analyze such brilliant RCT works. Maybe I'll post something else here later.

This topic should know be re-named "Whore Your Own Parks" - its fucking disgraceful that people are whoring their own work, surely if it was that detailed then someone would of picked it out for examination?
  • JKay%s's Photo
^Well then, I guess the "Ad District" should be changed to "Whore Your Own Parks District", huh?
  • iris%s's Photo
I agree...from now on all posts that show you're own work will be deleted.

Then again, that's how this thread started.

In hindsight, that was a bad move. However, I'd like to keep it, if people wouldn't mind...

I'm going to take the challenge and see if I can do one for RoB soon. I could be looking a while, though...

DonĀ“t agree on that being a "bad move".

I love to read the things/reasons of the "little things" by the one who made them, as well as I love to read about the "little things" that others picked out of a park from someone else.

    So, imo, please keep/do both!

(Only cannot appreciate it if people just bulldoze the specialty of "little things" by making this a normal "advertise your park"-topic while they absolutely have no special "little things" to show :( )
  • J K%s's Photo
This is one of the best topics at the moment, its great to see work you might not have noticed before. I would definatly keep it, but maybe not to advertise your own park.

No you tool. Becuase this topic was designed to pick out things in other people's parks and discuss the finer moments of some of the games greatest releases - advertising district is for advertising, and therefore its appliable to post your own work there.

Well, atleast when bigfoot posts pictures i feel whored too.

But isn't it the point to show people those little things where you were personally proud of? The parkmaker himself knows his park better than anyone and could show those special bits. However full sized screens don't belong here ofcourse and that's why this topic is de-railing.

Wrong, I believe this topic was designed for Turtle to show the details that he put in his parks which others may have missed, and I believe it should be kept that way. Obviously it is also enjoyable to read what details people have picked out of other people's parks. I think that both should be allowed, but, saying that, I have seen people "whore" their own parks rather than actually show the details which is pretty poor.

I now also think you should be able to post your own screens. Just not full size.
