  • Hey Man I look forward to your park. If you want to build it in snadbox mode just create your entrances, size and whatever else in the scenario editor and then save your park.

Once that is done go to your my documents/rct3 folder and open the start new scenario folder. Take your file in there that you saved and copy it to the my documents/rct3/parks folder.

Then go back to rct3, open sandbox mode and load your file in. The only thing you cannot do in sandbox mode that you can do in scenario editor is put the park entrances and guest spawn points.
  • Are you building this in sandbox mode or scenario editor mode?
  • This game has a tendency to lock up on me.  Or I'll open it and then it crashes half the time.  It seems unstable, but other than that, it's cool.  When it works, it works like a charm.  :)

Gotta go explore stuff now.  I had a TILT coaster going until the thing crashed.  Also, is there a way to expand the map in sandbox mode?  I'll play around with stuff.

You have to go to the Scenario Editor and make a map there. You can adjust the map size as well as do everything else. Once finished save your scenario and then go out to your My Documents Folder and open up the RCT3 folder.

Once in there open up the Start New Scenario Folder and copy your scenario park that you made and then paste it into the Parks Folder (which is also inside your My documents folder under the RCT3 folder).

Then go back to RCT3 and open sandbox mode and load a park. Wala...your scenario park now awaits you in sandbox mode.
  • That coaster looks hot. Do you have the graphic settings on full, or does it just look better than it did in the demo?

Anyway, looking great. Although the rooves are really, really shiny.

The rooves are shiny because I have something called bloom turned on in the options. It basically adds a glow around everything and "softens" things up. Kind of a cheap mans anti-aliasing (although the game does offer true anti-aliasing).

The bloom can be really extreme at some angles, but you can always turn it off.
  • I for one love this game. I have had minimal problems and I am not running on a super computer. My computer exceeds the games specs though.

The graphics are gorgeous to look at and I think the personality of theme parks has been captured quiet well. The peeps add much more variety and life to the game.

All of the scenery elements are very well done. A wide variety (impressive for the inital release at least) of wall / ceiling/ animatronic etc. items exist. Granted none of them can be combined with other themes too well but I am sure someone will prove me wrong.

So many people are complaing about problems and things that aren't working and such, but I have had ample time with the game and find it an absolute joy. I will not be going back to the old RCTs. The terrain tool alone will keep me staying.

The coaster cam can be fun. A little boring on flat rides but fun for the first couple times on your newly built coaster.

Keep in mind I have been playing the game only in sandbox mode and the scenerio editor so I have no idea how it plays from a park management standpoint. Given that this is the games main focus IGN gave the game an 8.5 based on the scenario aspect of the game.

There are a few annoyances to the game and the biggest one is not being able to build walls or fences on paths. I also wish there was a little more variety in the Colored Walls scenery items but I am sure these will come along.
