yea, when i tired to download thte pro-tour bench it said it couldn't find that webpage/
  • Elephant6%s's Photo

Download the PT bench. It should all be there unless he cheated :)

Looks like he cheated. I have the PT bench and all the RCT2 parks released so far, and it's not working for me. Does anyone know where I can get this "pemky1" object.

EDIT: Disregard this post, Toon solved my problem.

No cheating, just a scenery glitch. He probably had the same file on his computer already and it somehow got the game confused.

    Hope this helps...

Nobody got the 'short end of the stick'. Kumba came very close to a Parkmaker spot, but he didn't get it. Sure he had some terrific ideas in a park, but he's always had great ideas in his parks, he just never knows how to put them together, and Darwood Grove definitely didn't solve that. It was just one idea on top of another. John has great parkmaking skills, he knows how to put a park together, and has a certain class to his parks that nobody else has. The last few Parkmakers chosen were 'boundary-pushing fantasy parkmakers' like cBass and Phatage (although he also goes realistic from time to time), so I want to balance it up with some semi-realistic parkmakers. Really, John's always had the talent needed to be a parkmaker, and just having a finished work from him was all I needed to make him a Parkmaker. Is the park too bare in my opinion? Absolutely not. It's classy...he knows when to stop theming, and when to not go overboard, which make his parks pleasent and subtle.

I'd rather not have a headache looking at my parks, and with Kumba it seems like one great idea after another, just thrown onto a canvas ruining it all. Personality also has a lot to do with picking parkmakers in the future, and with all the drama Kumba has caused lately, such as asking all the judges what scores he got, and trying to get information out of Corkscrewed. Stuff like that just irritates me, so that's why he's still behind people like DarkJanus, Kevin, and Micool.

And for the record, it didn't matter if he beat John in the overall scores or not, because the Parkmaker Spots are completely my opinion...it was the two parkmakers that I personally put in my top two...and that obviously included John, and not Kumba.

    Good day.
And congrats John! It's your day, don't let people get you down!

John the park was nice, I was not to crazy about the entrance area, or tritan towers (how can it say castle when their is no castle around?) to be honest the only part I really liked was Journey to the Centre of the Earth, very well done. A very good entry, but I thought you could have done a lot better.

Now I got to say I am jealous that you got the spot, our park's tied so I guess Foozy had to brake it. The park was good but IMO if you got the spot I should have aswell, It alreddy seems people think my entry was better, and this was really tight. After all my hard work in this contest I have only come out with a contest page, and thats great, but I was really hopeing to get one of the two spots and it hurts to miss it by so little. I guess I should be used to comeing in second by now but it still hurts, at the awards it was not so bad coz Phatage was much more worthy, but this time I feel I got the short end of the stick. I think 3 mite have been a good number of PT parkmakers, but I guess what they say is true, three is a crowd.

    Kumba  :(

Dont mean to sound harsh but your acting like a complete drama queen, its not a big deal if you didnt get parkmaker spot, you came very high in this contest and thats something you should be proud of, keep working on your parks and show Iris that your worthy of parkmaker. Dont act like a complete fool and start feeling sorry for yourself.

Anyways im at my girlfriends atm so i cannot view the park yet, i will later though and give my comments on it.

Congrats John, you definetly have the skill.

    I loved this park.

Everything flowed together so perfectly to make a great atmosphere. The rides were alright. But the architecture and the theming were great. John really does know when not to go too far when making his parks, which gives his parks the classy looks they have (as iris pointed out).

    Great work John. Fucking awesome.

Oh, and your parkmaker logo kicks serious ass.

Thanks, Toon, but... what do I do with that file when I download it? (sorry, I've never actually installed scenery or whatever)

This is the first park ive replied to for this contest, and to be honest it wasn't really that an impressive park, however it was different to the usual 'pile as much crap onto a tile as i can rct2 park' and i think its was nice how the areas were subtle and not over powering with loads of objects. It could have been better if it were more filled out, thought out better without using buildings as filler and better themes.......still not bad, good job and good luck as a parkmaker john, jon whatever.

    Congrats John.

I was wondering when you were actually going to get that parkmaker spot. While I saw it coming, it still surprised me.

I loved the park. Its not my favorite of the entries so far (don't really have a favorite one yet), but I feel that it is in the right spot. I really love your newer defined style. Its not random at all and its not confusing to look at and it doesn't hurt my eyes, like your hotel preliminary did. ;)

My favorite area to me would have to be the Mysterious Island. Nice gloomy feel to it and I really liked the watercoaster.

Now I know who the other parkmaker is, which is pretty obvious. congrats.

I liked this park. The architecture was very nice, the rides were cool, and the atmosphere was awsome. My favorite part was Journey To The Center Of The Earth, it was very well done. It's landscaping was very nice, that invisable track part of it was cool, and over all it was fun to look at and watch. Well done John and congrats on getting parkmaker, I knew you would some day.

    Great park as expected.
Great architecture, and some wonderful rides. My favourite was the water coaster, very well hacked... I liked the simplicity of the buildings in the park, nothing too bright or anything that stood out. Great park- oh, and congrats.

the architecture makes me think you just want to be corkscrewed. The buildings are way worse than corkscrewed's buildings, by far imo. The whole pathing and lining of flowers might even be a bit better. The coaster was ok. However, the architecture was just really bad in places, honestly. I'm looking at it now and just notice some more buildings i totally don't like, so hence the double comment. I think the winds of the caspian sea was the best part.

    If... WME would have judged

    1-10. ?
    11. Darwood Grove- Kumba
    12. Gouvia Point- Voodoo
    13. Continent Traasok- Twisted
    14. Disney's MiniSeas- John
    15. The 10th Kingdom- Six Frags
    16. Elements- Gir
    17. Darkwood Amusements- Posix
    18. Ancient Enchantments- Prince Ashitaka
    19. N.E.R.D.- Gymkid Dude
    20. Harmony Harbor- Micool
    21. Palm Springs Florida- NC
    22. Country Squire Amusement Park- rwadams
    23. Poplar Grove- Ride6

I get an Ivalid Data File when I try to open the park, anyone know why?

    Edit: Nevermind Problem fixed.
  • Elephant6%s's Photo

Thanks, Toon, but... what do I do with that file when I download it? (sorry, I've never actually installed scenery or whatever)

Just save the .DAT in your ObjData folder, convientently located in your RCT2 folder.

Congrats on your parkmaker spot, John. Good park as well.

I personally don't think this park should have placed so high. It's a good "RCT" park, but it's not a good "Disney" park. It just doesn't have the Disney feel to it. It may have been lack of detail or the overall layout... but this park doesn't feel like a DisneySea of any kind.

Congratualtions on the Parkmaker spot anyway.

    Good day.

John is out of town momentarily. I know this from chatting with him a bit.

As for the park it's classy, very classy. I still don't care for the way the ferris wheel sticks out and the amount of water is nearly as wasteful as on Corks DSS.

The quality of the atmosphere is excellent though and there are idea's here and there that I didn't realize that John would pull. Personally I like this Mystery Island better then Corks. The water coaster was nicely pulled off too. Personally I would like to see some of that detail that John had in the buildings on Project Tres (for example) back in his archetecture though, as it seems that he's letting all signs of detail go.

Congrats on the Parkmaker spot John (and slob, oops. ;))

A lovely traditional type park. The atomsphere you created was superb.

Glad you're a parkmaker John. You are certainly an innovative member here at NE.
