Oh wew, two very good parks if you ask me. One is a clear winner for me, but both teams can be proud.

MS 2003 was great. I really enjoyed the ideas worked out. Especially the huge prehistoric computer made me smile. Besides that the park is also very appealing to me. Great park, awesome references!

Morthal was a much emptier map. It has a good atmosphere and I think the buildings and the land textures really work. The big mountain in the back  could use a bit more grass and foliage to break everything up, and the layout of the log fume was a bit boring.

Anyway, great works. My vote goes to the LLawbreakers.

    MS Office Suite 2003 Resort:
haha omg I loved it, well, I am an Excel fan, Excel here in Brazil is my life, I was in love with the park.
Is the roller coaster a spreadsheet? I loved it :D
Fantastic, I have to say congratulations on the imagination and the creation, everything was great. :)

    Morthal
I liked it because the park combined with the name Morthal, the channel of logs was nice, the other track underneath was very good, could have done more.
The candys were good, not overdone, one here another there, was good.
I loved the mountain with snow, maybe more grass and foliage to break everything up.
I liked the overall visual, a sense of peace and calm:)

    Morthal:

Neat little layout set in Skyrim! Really liked it. Definitely looked like Morthal.. which is a plus.

The station building was the best archy on the map.. closely followed by the building next to the brakerun. Really well done.

The log flume wasn't the best.. kinda dragged a bit. Also, some of your buildings don't have doorways.. is that intentional? Either way, not bad. Really liked the foliage throughout. As MK98 said, the mountain could've used a little detail.. maybe a frost troll or something.

    MS Office:

Wow.. crazy detail right from the get go. The virginia reel is wonderful.. the computer monitor is really cool.

I liked the supports for Graphity.. just looked a little wonky as a layout though. Great queue and interaction though. Clippy was the highlight for me.. the batwing especially.. really well done with that element of the ride. The path connecting Word to Powerpoint areas underneath the reverser coaster was scenic. Amazing park LLawbreakers! You get my vote for sure.

  • Poke%s's Photo

Both very creative and atmospheric releases. My vote goes with Ms Office though for having a lot more content and the simple absurdity of the concept - very very well done to both parks though!

    - Skyrim Theme, I love to see that. I can definitely see the resemblance to the actual town. High moon hall is definitely the highlight, you did a good job of making it look like the real game building. The skyrim nerd in me wishes there were more little details and tie ins into the actual game. I'm a bit torn on the log flume, while it definitely does a good job bridging the whole area together, it definitely meanders a bit much. Some of the ride exits not being finished is a bit distracting. The landscaping is cool, if a bit empty. Where this park excels in my opinion is the creepy atmosphere it generates. All in all a pretty cool entry that I enjoyed.

  • Ling%s's Photo

MS Office: I like the bright and colorful atmosphere of the park, even though I wouldn't describe it as fun. It does feel a bit... memey for my tastes. The giant Windows XP background is a work of art and Logo Coaster works masterfully as a centerpiece of the park, even though it is all left turns. There is an over-reliance on Clippy though, and that coaster just has terrible pacing. There were some quality of life issues too - the reverser coaster in the Powerpoint area was probably the coolest ride in the park, but it failed to finish the circuit a few times and I kept getting notifications that cars were getting stuck. The entrance to one of the whoa bellies was also not attached to anything when it easily could have been, and also spammed notifications. Graphity was such a cool idea. Overall though I think this park is very original and fits the spirit of H2H8/8 perfectly.

Morthal: This is a bit tricky for me. I love Skyrim and the architecture and atmosphere here is actually really nice, but this foliage is extremely obviously not c. H2H1 and the landscaping is really modern-looking too. I love how completely the little waterfront area reminds me of the town from the game, and Al-Du-In is a much stronger coaster layout than any of the rides in MS Office. I liked that you used path signs to name the different buildings since little/no trackitecture was used. Hjaal River Deluge is just so big and awkward, it really seems like an afterthought - I suspect this was rushed in as a last-minute supporting ride. The general emptiness isn't great either - this could have done with a lot more forest and possibly even more water.

I think unfortunately this round will probably end up being a landslide, and in the interest of acknowledging the great stuff in Morthal that I think deserves to be recognized, my vote goes to the fLLorists.

is there a mr office ;)

I really wanted to check these out so repurchased RCT1 Deluxe (has expansions) to do so- but darn the locked parks thing on RCT1- for both parks "Unable to load saved game- you do not yet have access to this scenario" Anybody know how many/which of the scenarios I'd need to complete to unlock these? I hate games that lock things down- then you have to play other stuff to unlock things- some of us have to work (plus it's always a pain if you re-buy the game later as the old one's broken/ not on your current system etc). More time to vote? :)

Update: fixed the 'locked parks' issue, now getting a 'file contains invalid data' error for both parks- RCT1 (has Loopy Landscapes) doesn't like the files, how come they won't load for me?

  • Cocoa%s's Photo

hey sunscreemer, Its not an issue of the game "locking scenarios" or anything. You need to follow this guide to get LL working properly to check out this parks. The original game came out in like 1998 so barely even works for windows xp! So we have a series of patches you need to install that will make the game runnable and allow you to open parks with 'hacking' in them without getting errors.

  • Sunscreemer%s's Photo

Cheers cocoa, rct1 is working on my Win10 PC (I may lose some of my life to its best and 'real' parks!), not sure if I'll do all the extra stuff to load these parks but shall take a look.

When I first heard [creator]'s idea for an MS office themed park I laughed at it...now I am eating my words. This is amazing. It's got all the details and fun while still being functional and aesthetic. Well done!

Morthal is also quite good, but some more content and/or details would have gone a long way. Still one of the better parks of the contest though, it gave me Valken (one of my favorite LL designs) vibes, which is always a good thing.

Overall awesome round! This contest has been a pleasant surprise for me so far and I'm sure the later rounds will be even better.

    MS Windows:

this park is legitimately brilliant. On top of being quite a beautiful, well-constructed park, its hilarious and just brimming with ideas and new LL things I hadn't seen before. CD names- such nostalgia. Clippy! Logo coaster- brilliant. That computer... Using the colors as the basis of quite atmospheric themes worked really well, and the park is filled with lush but quaint landscaping that is very pretty. I love the font ride, I could guess all of them. I would fully vote for this in real h2h, thats how good I think it is. wow. Very funny and well done, I wish I was this creative... (drop shadow got me real good, fukn fantastic. i miss word art...)

    Morthal

a little bit less content that MS Word but still very pretty- love a subdued winter theme. the archy trope you used works wonders and I don't recall having seen it before- great atmosphere that I'd love to steal one day. I wasn't a huge fan of either layouts but I did really like the harbor shape and general composure. the isthmus with the log flume station is just so well done, very very pretty. the flowers in patches around work wonders too.

for me, its an easy vote, but both parks were good and a solid step up from last round. really looking forward to what is to come!

MS Office is such a fun and well-delivered concept that it makes me jealous we didn't come up with it. Good job. Made me laugh quite often.

  • Julow%s's Photo

MS Office: Love this park, brilliant idea and very well executed. So much fun. Love the red diving coaster and the computer screen.

Morthal: Very nice park. The name fits very well with this park because it felt a bit dead overall. Difficult to compete with the MS park which was so full of life and rides. But there was nothing I didn't really like here so good work !

    Sorry for the quick reviews

  • bigshootergill%s's Photo

My commenting has been virtually nothing lately, but I have been checking out the parks. Great job guys. Crazy concept on MS Office, I guess you can build an rct park out of literally any insane idea! :D

Glad to see Morthal get some votes, however I went for MS Office. Loving the LL friendly matches :p

I never played Skyrim so something might be lost on me. This was a pleasant park to view. It does an excellent job with its application of mild use of snow. Gives you a sense of late winter or early spring. Station is unique. Are the candy rolls and mushrooms used to represent monsters? Overall nice submission.

    MS Office Suite 2003 Resort

Haha, now this is what I imagined when this contest started. Brilliant idea executed very well. This really gives you a sense of age. This could of came out 15 years ago and be prevalent for its release date then. So many little ideas like the Virginia reels tubs as CD-ROM disks, or the windows logo as the centerpiece makes it easy to really like this park. The Excel, Word, and Powerpoint sections are all themed and coloured correctly.

The CTR monitor with the iconic background is fucking great.

Voting for MS Office Suite 2003.

  • G Force%s's Photo

Loved seeing a winter-ish park without an overload of snow and creative archy/foliage, I opened this first and though it would surely get my vote because of this.  However, MS Office Suite Resort was just fantastic, might feel a bit advanced compositionally for this contest but it was the definite winner here.
