Turns out attempting to make a city is extreeeemely tedious.

The right half of the screen is actually quite nice. The building has good structure and form, nice use of objects, proper details; could maybe use a few more windows/etc on the lower half, but overall quite good.

The "city" leaves much to be desired. Extremely blocky/jagged looking, those pirate walls don't fit the aesthetic of the game, and there's no detail or distinguishing between any of the houses in the city.

Instead of viewing the task as tedious, just start with one city house, and try to put the same level of care and attention that you put into the main building into that house. Then build another slightly different house next to it. After a couple hours, your city will be done much better.

In terms of coaster layout: make sure your coasters aren't almost only left or right turns. Spice it up a bit

The reason why the task was tedious was because I was trying my darndest to get finished in the contest's deadline. I thought I was being clever by keeping it secret. I had no idea people would dislike my piece choice so much. :/

Oh man, I love the subject matter! Not finished reading the Mistborn books but they're great so it's lovely to see someone tackle the theme. Solid vibes.

Thanks, there are some whisperings of a Mistborn movie being made so maybe my creation will gain some relevancy in the coming years. :)
