Actually Deano, my comment wasn't the slightest bit aimed at you as you were saying how you would be away for the actual PT, which is fine.  It was in fact aimed at Tracid and all the others who said they wouldnt be able to finish an entry for the prelims, because that...in my opinion...is pretty poor.

Actually what I meant by that is that I don't have any motivation to play it at all, and I don't know about you guys, but when I don't want to work, I don't. It'll look like shit. I could finish these entries in plenty of time if I had the motivation. So yeah. Basically I'm gonna keep working on my entries and if any of them get finished in time I'll send them in, if not, oh well. I wasn't complaining about the deadlines at all.

So the liquid coasters are due on Monday.

Hmm...

I was going to enter funniest park, as it's the final round, with a spoof of "realistic" parks, done in Dogma 05 style, but, ended up, gasp, enjoying myself! Also, it wasn't funny. So, it'll be finished as a serious park, which I will submit for Spotlight / Runner Up consideration in a few months time, hopefully.

Going down the list, then:

Best dueling coasters: the one area of RCT where I have no confidence in myself, mainly because I demand timing to be PRECISE, better than even many of the supposed "best" duelers in RCT history.

Best adventure ride: I don't like hacking, so, doubtful. Maybe I could do one with the little Wildcat-esque minicoaster? But wouldn't that just be considered a rollercoaster? Probably.

Best bridge: are you joking?

Best B&M multielement: probably what everyone is best at, because it's the most versatile, and statistically the kindest with the ratings.

Hmm... yeah... I think I'll do that, then... now, I just need an idea...

That would be cheating. In order to make it legal how about putting the deadline out 3-4 months after the bench is released, if that's not enough time to fill and 80X80 area fill some of it with water. Then again those of us who build faster would have and "advantage" then, so I guess nothing is equal, and so it always is with humans. In being 'equal' we form social classes or personal materistic desires and we have different talants so not matter how one tries to make things 'equal' somehow it's always a loss to somebody.

Opps, um, anyway I think 3-4 months after the bench is released would be plenty of time, then again I build fast so what do I know?

I don't see why they can't get the workbench early, it gives the qualifyers more of a challenge. Plus, I think we should do anything to make sure everyone submits an entry

if we do that, I think the winners in the qualifying rounds should get the bench right after they've won.

I think it's better when everyone starts at once, so they're won't be any complaints.

it would be totally unfair if some people got the bench before others. if this was a fairly run contest, all participants should have the same amount of time to work on their park.

crap, i was hoping there wouldnt be too many entries for the 4D contest but it looks like i have to go up against six frags. well my entry is about 95% done so i have some time to tweak it up a bit.

The idea of people getting the workbench early is ridiculous in my opinion. Parkmakers already have the advantage over qualifiers, because in general, they are better...which is why they are parkmakers. We don't want the ranking to reflect how long someone had to work on the park, we want it to reflect which park is the best. Everyone should get the same workbench at the same time so it is fair, nobody has any stupid advantage over anyone else apart from their own RCT/2 skill and the speed of parkmaking does come into that.

If finishing is an issue, then make the workbench smaller or just give everyone more time. It would be silly to give the best people even more time, that's like reverse handicapping or something
