I'm going for a 2-0 to AC Milan.

    Liverpool lack the experience for a match of this magnitude and AC Milans starting line-up is just levels above Liverpools;

    -----------------Dida-------------------------
    -Cafu----Nesta----Maldini----Kahladze-
    ------------------------------------------------
    ------Gattuso---Pirlo---Seedorf-----------
    ------------------------------------------------
    --------------------Kaka'----------------------
    -------------------------------------------------
    ------------Crespo------Schevchenko------

That team is infinitely better on paper than Liverpools and all the players except Maldini and Crespo have benefited from a week and a halfs rest.

    2 - 1 to liverpool

    Cisse and Gerrard to score

I know Milan should kick their ass but something is just telling me Liverpool might knick a win somehow. Perhaps 1-1 and they get a penalty in extra time, I don't know. Liverpool hopefuly will play Cisse instead of Baros because one thing that can expose Milan is pace.

Stargazer, I have to disagree with you strongly. Milan had a league game on friday i think for starters, and also I think there's plenty of weak players in the milan team - pirlo, seedorf, kahladze, kaka are all having terrible seasons and if biscan plays like he did in the 2nd leg against chelsea, it's game on.
  • Stargazer%s's Photo
^ Well no shit! But Milan rested all of their first team except Maldini and Crespo for that match and still drew 3-3 with 5th placed Palermo.

    Weak Players?

Pirlo - Johan Cruyff rates him as the best midfield playmaker in the world. He's had an awesome season, highlighted by his brace for Italy. Probably the best passer of the ball in the world.

Seedorf - Not had a great season, but performs in the big matches (he has three Champions League medals) and has probably the best long-shot.

Kahladze - If he's had such a bad season why then did Chelsea declare their interest in his services?

Kaka' - He had a poor first half of the season, looked out of form probably due to the fact that he had his first ever free summer. Second half of the season has been significantly more influential and in the CL has got vital assists, particuarly against PSV for Sheva's and Ambro's goals. He was also declared man of the match for the first PSV leg and was probably Milans best player in the second leg.

Milan also have 391 International Caps worth of experience in their defence alone. That could potentially be the difference.

    Oh, and Biscan isn't starting.

...I think you're pretty set on arguing with whatever I say with long passages, I don't know, you always do that to my posts, but what I will say is that Seedorf, IMO, is the most overrated midfield player ever, Chelsea never indicated interest in kaladze (see football 365), kaka was ineffective against both man utd and ac milan, and most importantly with cisse on the pitch, the centre backs lack of pace was displayed against deportivo last year when they put 4 (or was it 5?) past milan, outrunning the defence on at least 3 of the goals. With Stevie G's through balls at their disposal, it could be interesting. If Liverpool beat Chelsea, then Milan certainly won't breeze past them as you suggested.

Having said all that, I'll be in our bar with a milan shirt on, and will be cheering them on, because there's a couple of 'pool fans in my hall who are complete cocks.

One of Deportivo's goals was when Luque outpaced Nesta, and that was only becuase Nesta let the ball bounce over his head.

The others had nothing to do with pace, they were all mistakes by the Milan defense.

Gerrard has a great passing range, but he gives the ball away far too much in midfield, he's not a patient player. He's always looking for the killer ball and most of the time, he fucks up. But when he pulls it off, it's effective.

No, quite simply nesta isn't that quick and luque (like cisse) is.

You're also forgetting that Liverpool have had a long rest as well. As for liverpool not being experienced, I can't be arsed to count but at least 4 of the liverpool team have played in a world cup, and liverpool fc as a club (ie, its spirit and its supporters) most definitely do have experience at this level.

So what is it that sucks about alonso?

How can someone be overrated when he's passed up for Maduro in the Dutch national team?
  • deanosrs%s's Photo
Who the fuck is maduro? Sorry, never heard of him.

WME, you don't have to argue with every post I make. It's really beginning to get on my tits.

    My point exactly.

He plays for Ajax, but had starred once in their first team while he was selected for the dutch national team. And Seedorf still isn't.

And the argueing, well, you tend to post a lot of things that you think to know, that i disagree on. And most of the time you give in when i post too, so why shouldn't i point these things out for you?

    Liverpool lasted 53 seconds...

Oh, mind if i say that this makes PSV a little silent second. Maybe not officially, but there's a world of difference here. Sorry, but the 3-0 is deserved, and 3-0 at half time really is pretty, uhm... big? I mean, there was only a little chance liverpool would get back from a 1-0 lead, almost none at a 2-0, and just no chance from 3-0.

Kaka just has to be like the man of the champions league :). And Shevchenko for a sportmanship award? minutes after Crespo went for his own glory he passes the ball over instead of trying to score himself. Incredible.

Too bad Liverpool wasn't able to put up a fight though. I can only bet on outcomes of the second half. Either AC goes with degrading Liverpool further, or they sit back and relax at 3-0. Hell, maybe Liverpool 'll score.
  • Themeparkmaster%s's Photo
Well Milan are officialy ripping Liverpool apart. 3-0 at half time!

Liverpool have been unlucky though, having a legitimate penalty claim turned down and then conceeding 15 seconds later is low blow. However they are defending appalingly, especialy Traore who has obviously been singled out as the weak link by Milan and is getting tormented by Sheva and Cafu.

Kaka's pass for the third goal... :|''''... incredible.

Gerrard has had no influence at all so far and I can't believe Baros has been picked ahead of Cisse, already it has been evident his pace is needed. If it carries on like this I can see it being a huge embarrasment for Liverpool, it already is realy, but I could see them loosing by 6-7 goals if their not careful.
