Dutch und Deutsch - Wo ist der Unterschied?

Das ist für meine Verhältnisse formales Deutsch. Abgesehen davon wenn ich irgendwelche Texte interpretieren muss.

Ach und ihr lieben Holländer. Glaubt nicht wir würden eure Sprache nicht verstehen. So schwer ist es wirklich nicht. Wer English und Deutsch kann, versteht Holländisch auch in den meisten Fällen.

I'm trying to learn German mostly because I was born there (Wiesbaden Air Force Base). Whenever people hear that I was born there, they always ask me if I can speak German. Unfortunately, I can't...

Lately though, I'm become more and more interested with German culture. My family recently hosted a German student for a year (she was from Hamburg), and my mother just went to her house over the past winter. I'm hoping to be able to visit Germany for the 2006 World Cup.

Anyway, that's why I'm learning German. I started this topic so I could practice a bit more, but obviously I'm way far behind the rest of you...

Maybe a few German natives can help me out with some simple sentances?

the practice you translate with the german ausnutzen has to be üben.

Meine Schule bringt es mir nicht bei oder
Meine Schule lehrt es nicht
