I don't know how anyone can say the Dodgers are good (at best) after losing their 8th straight today, and 13th of the past 14 (only winning one since the break). -

Keep in mind I said that BEFORE they began playing like warm moist shit. When I said it, they were in contention.I still think they're a good team, they just really aren't playing to their potential. Them and the White Sox must've caught the same disease.

TWO OF THREE AND ROCKED SCHILLING!
What a great inning that was with OC, Guerrero (WHAT A HOMER!) and Rivera (ON FIRE!). -

If only K-Rod hadn't blown that save on Saturday... we'd go into tonight's game with Oakland up by half a game. -

Hell, the Angels actually look like a potentially good team again. They lost today, but K-Rod's getting his shit together (Hopefully), and Lackey, Santana, and Weaver are pretty damn impressive. (Even today Santana allowed only 3 ER in 8 innings) If they do manage to make it to the playoffs over the A's, I wouldn't be surprised with another WS appearance. -

The Twins are coming. Ask how many managers want to face Santana and Liriano in a playoff seres. They shake in fear when you ask that question. -

Still on top guys. Speaking of which, I just bought tickets for the last three games of the year so I can be there when the A's clinch the division on the Angels home field. -

Ed, my good man, I'm sure that you, with your vastly philisophical mind, can easily see the various logical complexities that will result in a late-season run by the Angels, and, ultimately, the Angels making the playoffs over the A's. At least you'll get to witness it in person though. -

And likewise, you might be able to appreciate how a healthy Eric Chavez, Milton Bradley, and (dare I hope?) Rich Harden would considerably improve the team which currently holds the best record in the AL West. -

IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!!
Kudos to you folks in Detroit for handing the Twins the division on a silver platter. Thanks! Enjoy New York.
I'll post my analysis with predictions later. -

Dodgers all the way. The Cards could have a shot too if they can play well, but they showed in the end of the season they are definitely capable of choking, so who knows. Mets don't stand a chance due to their pitching issues, and the Yanks will lose against a much weaker team despite having a payroll 5 times as big because, well, they're the Yankees.Edited by eman, 02 October 2006 - 04:41 PM.

Agreed. I would've said Mets before their rotation broke down (and for once I have to give props to Larry Luchino for seeing Pedro's breakdown coming), but now I'd have to go with the Dodgers...ahh Derek Lowe and Nomar Garciaparra, why can't we get guys like that. -

Don't forget Furcal. And Maddux. And Drew. And Saito (Most underrated pitcher in the history of baseball). -

Well yeah but none of those guys were ever on the Sox so that would negate my post. Furcal almost was, but who needs him when you have Mark Loretta. I always took Drew for a basketcase but he's done well for himself lately. Maddux is going to pitch until he's 55, I swear. -

Sorry, I'm a bit slow.Shame the Sox dint make playoffs this year, I was hoping for another WS for them but I suppose its not meant to be. They played utter shit the last half of the year.
