In a surprise to many, MGM officials have announced that the construction contract for MGM's Golden Age of Hollywood has been awarded to the Retro Construction Triumvirate of Gable, Garbo and Grant. According to sources, this construction firm specializes in the nostalgic feel MGM desires for their newest theme park.
Also released at this afternoon's news conference was an artist's sketch of the park's entrance plaza. One executive states that "MGM wants to transport its guests back in time by recreating the mystique of Hollywood in the 1940's. The grandeur of the entrance plaza will be the guest's first taste of what our business once was."

It's definately RCT1, look under the windows, you can see the dark track. Not to mention the hacks all over the screen, lol. Looks good, this a surprise to me. Hehe.

It looks okay from what I can see, yet I cant see very much. I like the buildings' design, yet the buildings themselves look a bit boring, and could use more detail. Post some clear pics so I can critiqe it in a proper fasion. -

Nifty pics editting. I know you can crank out great stuff, so I can't wait to see "real" screens of the park. -

It looks like the MGM logo without the lion. You've picked out another novel idea for a park and I'm sure you'll fit it with lots of cool details like Stratford Fair. I'm trying to think of some good classic movies for you but I don't really like much of what MGM was putting out at the time. All the good stuff was coming from Warner, Columbia, Fox, and RKO but since you've limited this to MGM you surely should have Singin in the Rain, Night of the Hunter, and Paths of Glory in there somewhere. 12 Angrey Men is great and so is Inherit the Wind but I don't know that dialog heavy court dramas really translate into amusement parks well. -

Construction has begun along Hollywood Blvd behind the main entrance to the park. We are lucky enough to have snapped a photo showing both Frederick's of Hollywood and The Brown Derby restaurant. Other attractions rumoured to be under construction along the famous Boulevard include Ripley's Believe it or Not, the Hollywood Wax Museum and of course Grauman's Chinese theatre. More on these and many other stores and attractions at a later date.
