    i think it's... well... okay.
couldn't really keep my interest for long. it's just another 3d build up game. i hate those.
the graphics didn't quite convince me. most of the textures are awfully bad. the animations are "okay". the engine seems kind of bad because the game should run better with that graphics
when you ride "looping wasp" the fps drop dramatically. sad.
this "summer air" song is awesome though.

I'm just too poor to afford a cable connection.

I'm going to tag along with the more negative side, although I'll start of positive.
-The demo ran very smoothly and didn't have any problem with framerates on the 'extreme' setting (P4 3GHz, 1GB RAM, Radeon 9800pro)
    -Coastercam is cool
-rides look very good and the details are worked out very well
    -some very cool new features

    Negative:
-Navigation is just horrible, it never does completely what I want
-lack of content: I know this is not a final version, but it need more specialistic content
-The creative aspect will be very poor
-the options are not very well laid out and you'll spend hours of finding all tricks

    My first opinion:
I'm afraid this game doesn't allow the same possibilities as the first two. This is a totally different game. Making freeform parks out of this is probably very hard and annoying. I have the feeling the value of this game is in the coasterdesign aspect. I think that the gameplay is just very poor... :'(

    Change the cam version...

Ah, well, hopefully this will introduce new people to the RCT series, and then to parkmaking, or at least to the community.
My computer won't run the demo, so I'm just basing that on what you guys have said. Too bad the game doesn't seem to be the revolution in parkmaking it could have been.

    Change the cam version...

Helps a little bit. The only usable version is the isometric one... I still don't think this game is revolutionary to the series.

Richie, about 2 hours ago I'd agree with you. Then I gave it a second chance. Got used to the controls and the build mode and had a blast! I assure you that if you give it more time you'll find the charm in this!  ;)

I played it from 3pm till about 5pm, 2 hours and the camara was still annoying me.

Its not for parkmaking like most people here hoped, its a game for the average person that walks into the game store, and i can appreciate that.

However, it would be amazing when someone gets good enough to make a river of babylon in 3D, then i might have to buy it ;)

    56k modems suck.

    dammnit.

God dammit. I'm getting the same problem DarkRideExpert is getting, and I don't know what to do about it because I'm damn near computer illiterate. And it's pissing me off.

I really hope it doesn't do that with the actual game when it comes out.

Exactly what I expected...It looks good and from a scenario playing perspective is a great change. From a parkmaking perspective, I've already found at least a dozen annoyances and problems. I really can't see this game taking well to parkmaking as it is presented in the demo.

Mmm. I mean i'm gonna buy it, but I'm gonna stick to RCT2 for the time being. I can't really imagine any spotlights in the ingame thing. I just find the controls so fucking confusing, it realyy pisses me off. And the coaster designing scheme - why did they change it? They had it perfected...Strange choice to change it. Maybe I need to get used to it for a bit. But I can't say I'm AMAZINGLY impressed; it's just a little something. Average, i'd say, not good, nor bad. But definitely worth the download.

I cant download it from anywhere, its so damn slow. Im really desperate to play it too, help!
  • sfgadv02%s's Photo
    So is it worth it?

THIS PIECE OF SHIT COMPUTER!!! :@
I get it all installed and it gives me this crap how it performed an illegal operation and it will be closed. I reset and the same thing. So I uninstalled it and deleted the setup program and am redownloading the setup program. Hopefully this time it will work cause if it doesn't I'll be so pissed. :@
Does any one got any idea what the problem might be?, cause this shouldn't be happening.
I'll post my thoughts when I get the demo to work.

    So is it worth it?

For playing scenarios and maybe making some coasterdesigns: yes
    For parkmaking: forget it :(
  • insert username here%s's Photo
It was okay in terms of graphics and ride design, but hopefully the demo doesn't do the game justice in the not so great parts... 8@

I hate the demo, it froze my computer. I got through the loading sequence and shit, but when the park actually opened, it nearly froze, moving one frame at a time every few minutes.

ok, for those who got the game going, how do you get to rotate the camera? i still haven't figured it out.

I think the game is great, their are a few annoyances. but then again i'm not a big technical parkmaker either. i love making parks, and this game would only make it better. I do think that when the game comes out some of you guys will change your opinions. this game has a lot of potential, especially in parkmaking, its only a matter of practice till you get that certain "look" you guys want.

I seriously doubt that it has parkmaking qualities, but we'll see.

And to answer your question about the rotation: use mouse button 3 or in other words: hold down your scroll wheel(if you have one)
However I think the best usable mode is Isometric. You can rotate 90 degrees with enter then.
