    Not really without a new save format. It can technically be done by reusing another element ID for the new element, like was done for the booster pieces - but this is an awkward hack and it doesn't scale. It's also a lot more complicated than just adding a new track style.

    I didn't replace an existing ride type, I used one of the unused ride slots for this project. It appears as "Unknown Ride (50)" in regular OpenRCT2.

     

    If you opened the file with unmodified OpenRCT2, the track would appear invisible as there is no code to draw it, but everything else would still work.

     

    If you open it in vanilla, your game will crash with an access violation, because vanilla doesn't check if the code exists before trying to run it.

    If this is in one of the unused ride slots, why can't it be implemented in the base game, even with the .SV6 format? I know you've probably answered this question before, but it would be really cool to get these custom tracks of yours in the game.

    There's no reason this couldn't be included with OpenRCT2 - it doesn't require a new save format and I didn't create one. All I did is add new sprites and some code to render them (which is mostly copied and pasted).

     

    I will probably submit a PR for it at some point. I don't know if it would be merged though.

    What kind of supports does this track have? Can you give it wooden supports? Because it seems you manually added wooden supports.

    At the moment, it has steel supports that I remove with support blockers and put custom supports in place.

     

    I can switch the support type to wooden easily enough, but it won't be that straightforward. Those gray beams on the track aren't cross ties per se but part of the support structure, so they should line up with the tops of the support sprites, and currently they do not. I'm still trying to think of a way to solve this, but I think it will be a case of modeling supports individually for each track piece. This will be a tedious process, but it should only need doing for this track type, as nothing else I can think of has this problem.

    I love your work. With all the RMC coasters that I keep seeing are you going to make your sprites public? Also have you thought about doing the single rail RMC like the Wonder Woman lasso of truth?

    Didn't see these questions since they were submitted long after this post was made, but I might as well respond now in case anyone is still interested.

    I thought they already were, but it turns out I forgot to actually add them to the git repository. I can add them if you want them.

    Yes. Actually I really wanted to, but I thought the trains straddled the track in a way that would make it impossible. However, I decided to actually look at some pictures to check, and it turns out they don't. I'll probably give it a go at some point.

    My intention was and is to submit a PR when the track is complete - no guarantee it would be accepted though. However, it is proving very difficult to do the supports. It is likely that the Intamin double spine track will be done before the RMC track is, though I think it's less likely to be accepted.
