General Chat / Kumba's "TO DO" list

I know this is kinda OFF TOPIC, but is there going to be any change with NE Awards?...it may be a tiny and not very important detail compared with what you have been discussing on the last posts, but I think it would be good to keep that aspect in mind. Just a thought...

How about once H2H finishes, have a 3-4 week break, then have another RCT Fiesta? Then we could see some of the solo work going on, and it might inspire others to build.

Amen to that Fiesta thing. I wanna have some time after H2H for my Solo but a Fiesta won't hurt.
Keep the Rct2 and LL parks together, please. Runner Up and Super Runner Up could have sorted out though I think.

^a return of the fiesta would be nice indeed. H2H is mainly to blame that I hadn't anything to show for my 1000th post. Ah well after h2h EGAS will be rolling again.
Anyway, this site only need to have it's pages updated and some housecleaning and perhaps a new skin. It could use a new look. Also I think ll and rct2 need to be seperated. They're just to different to be compared.

Already regretting buying the site Kumster?

the seperate rct1 from rct2, ru from sru and spotlight thing is not meant as in "you can not compare these two games because they're too different".

the use of this is to make it easier for users to find eg rct2 work only. because, the chance that a new member who's coming to ne is looking for ll parks is about null, i'd think.

but there may be a few people who look for a rct2 park but also have LL...and then download an LL-park by accident and discover how great LL is. maybe.

and the fiesta-idea is extremely great.

I know a new layout/design is not really needed as some of the suggestions are, but I think the site could use a new layout because the one we have now is starting to get boring. Well, it's been boring for a while now.

I liked that blue layout you guys had up as a teaser for us. I really liked the look of it.

But a new layout/design is what I want the most.
And a new Spotlight after H2H4.

I'd also like a Fiesta.

The top paragraph is a good idea, I like that one.

The bottom, not so good. If there was a page explaining how to build better parks by a certain parkmaker, then that certain parkmaker would tell people how to build the way that (s)he does, which would then mean that then everyone would be building the same and nothing would be new. But by telling people to look at parks that are better than theirs, they can take ideas from it and build upon them, expanding they're skill, but also expanding the little details in parks. What I mean by that is look at a park from a few years ago that was considered incredible. Maybe RoB. Then compare it with parks of now. Maybe Isole Calabria. I think that the later has many many more ideas and little details. This is because (imo), people look at parks like RoB and think "That looks good", so they try to copy it. But it doesn't work out completely correct, but then they realise it still looks quite good, so they try to add more to it to make it more and more interesting.

Meh, I don't know what I was ranting about then...I'm in a ranting mood tonight...

mmm....a explaination about how to build I shouldn't do either, but things like Kumba's hack tips and Posix's LL guide etc. maybe could be put into the site to make it easier to find voor "noobs".

an fiesta sounds nice .

I agree on waiting with contest, maybe deathmatches could get going on again or a small contest where you have a week to build and still 2 players face each other, the winner has to go on and the loser must quit.

I think you should put the ellipse part of the logo with the ball through it behind the 2nd or 3rd "e" because that would be cooler.

Kumba, if you did get that parkmaker page thing you said in your first post up, that would be great as you can just delete any pages and thus remove any parkmakers that haven't updated in like 6 months or a year or something like that.

Just kidding. But it's a modification of the one they were planning on using. And you need to compare it to that before anything else.

Make a new logo, if you really care that much. Anyway, I don't even have the psd, this graphic is atleast 2 years old.
