your right but at the same time you want to please people on here bc it's a competitive website to get people to like your stuff

I think you just need to find a good balance between the "competitiveness and the fun of building. Honestly I love the work that you put out so far. Do you have a long way to go before you become amazing. Of course as do I and most everyone on NE. But that doesn't mean that you have to throw away your work because of a few measly criticisms here and there. If anything that should help motivate you more to fix things and get better.

Cant we put that discussion into a thread or something? We dont need to spam G Force with all this negative energy. We already destroyed the Westwinds comments, let´s not do that again.

G Force I´m sorry to say it, but I dont know what to think of this area. While I love the rest of the park this area does not much to me. The foliage is too dense, the buildings not as refined as in other areas and it´s just a lot of brown all over the place. I´m not familiar with the area at cedar point though, so I cant really judge what you went for. :/ I hope once I see it ingame in the context of the park I´ll like it more.

I really like that you are trying to give the park more breathing space, the macro-game as nin called it. I just feel that you doubling down on that a bit with the thick and dense foliage.

Does that make sense or am I talking rubbish?

  • Version1%s's Photo

I really think you went a bit too far with the whole spacing out bit. The density of the foliage is fine, but there is just too much forest in the top half of the screen.

I love the things you said, G Force. I agree that density, spacing, and overall composition from a macro perspective is super important and something that many park makers fail to acknowledge (myself included). I hope that the finished park will give us something unique to experience from that perspective.

About the screen however, we are judging what we see in a screenshot. I don't think this is reflective of what the whole park is going to be, and I don't think we are judging the park rather we are judging what you're showing - just within the confines of those four corners of the jpeg image.

Also, to Chemist, saying "ignore the retards"... who in this thread are you mentioning? I don't see any comments here from new members saying this is bad, but I do see many praising it and many offering criticism and constructive suggestions. And to be clear, the criticism it is receiving is honestly in earnest to help GForce improve his already technically perfect building style - things about color, texture, placement, theme choices, etc. What is your problem with any of this...?

Jesus christ, you guys are all so fucking obnoxious. Take this shit out of the screen comments, for fucks' sake.

Lovely work with the log flume, and I think you've placed the trees well, allowing a lot of the park area to be seen whilst still creating a heavily wooded feel. The only part I'm having a bit of trouble reading is the stone walls around the central building. I think they blend in too much with the path behind.

Agreed Robbie, I'm rather tired of this whole debate on too much or too little criticism, I wish NE would let it rest for once.

Meta comments aside, I think this is one of the better bits I've seen of this park. Yes, there is a lot of brown, but it seems like you've found a good way around it to give all the mess a bit of balance. Definitely a lot better than the parts I critiqued in the Hangout. I very much agree with Louis, Coasterbill and Robbie's advice, I'd take it to heart.

Because you act like a 12 year old? I will not post any more on this topic, but basically accusing someone of racism is not okay. It's actually kind of worrying how fast your brain connected a simple question with racism.

I feel bad for you, G Force, how this comment section has spun completely out of control. But you must admit that it has some popcorn value now. Popcorn with tears, but still popcorn. Chemist, please, please, knock it off with the hostile attitude. I don't like playing policeman and I want you to be a part of NE because you're obviously a skilled parkmaker. But I'm dusting off the ban button as we speak. Can you contain yourself or would you rather go on vacation for a while?

edit: this post is a bit contradictionary. The drama has become so absurd that I enjoy it, but it shouldn't get worse. Hence why I combined popcorn and an actual warning... A bit clumsy from my part. :p
