    Carrying on the 2012 announcements

Earlier in the year I posted on the announcement of the new Triumph Kingdom Theme Park being built in Wuging, China. The latest concept of the park show one of the new coasters in much more detail and it looks like it may be an brand new Intamin Rocket coaster.

Construction of the park itself has moved forwards quickly, while much of the entrance area already complete there is still much work to do in the other areas of the park. The first coaster, a Chinese Spinning coaster is already complete but there is currently no sign of the second and third rides.

Xcelerator layout? Or just a placeholder for the time being, like it was for Stealth on Thorpe's MTDP

I love the entrance and exit track of the top hat. :D
Anyway, looks like a fun park.

Looks like they designed the coaster layout concept in rct judging by those transitions.Semi-transparent people in the foreground, wtf is that all about?

I don't normally shamelessly plug things, but if you're interested in any of the of the upcoming B&M wing coasters (Swarm, X-Flight, Wild Eagle), I just wrote a blog entry taking a look at these.

Thats a nice blog CP6 and a very interesting read.

Just updated my blog with the latest construction news from Happy Valley Wuhan in China

A bit of an update on this park shows construction of several new rides and some interesting concept art.

Not sure what this tower is but I assume given the positioning it is either the Maurer Sky Loop or whatever the tower at the far end of the boardwalk is in the next photo.

Some awesome looking themeing here but does anyone know what that tower at the end of the boardwalk is?

This image shows the new S&S launched coaster is a mirror image of the new Bullet Coaster at the Happy Valley in Shenzhen and also shows the parks Vekoma Mine Train with some very odd themeing in the bottom right.

I enjoyed you entries, but I'm going to have to disagree on the entry of Leviathan and Behemoth. Well, I agree with every other than this. "It’s like turning back the clock to get an older version of the ride when there’s already something that beats it in every category" This was from the Demon Drop being relocated to Dorney and that they already have a drop ride. I agree with the whole they already have a drop ride and it would have made more sense to move it to a park without one. But I believe Demon Drop's drop was far superior to Power Towers. Yes, Power Tower is taller. But when you ride the Turbo Drop you only catch air-time as it first starts to drop. This is because it launches you to 50mph and is not a true free fall. Your body eventually catches up to the 50mph and if it were a true free fall it would keep gradually getting faster than staying a steady 50mph. On the other hand, Demon Drop is a true free fall and you are forced out of your seat the entire drop which was just amazing and could not be beat. I have never ridden an Intamin drop ride, but I'm pretty sure from all the videos I have seen it is a true free fall all the way to the bottom. Magic Mountain's new 400+ freefall just looking INCREDIBLE! I definitely will be making another trip to SFMM next year. It just sucks getting there when you live on the other side of the country.

Construction Continues. It looks suspiciously similar to the other 2. I wonder why they chose the same scheme.

    Construction On Leviathan update :)

I really don't get Leviathan. It's like they thought,
"hmmm...what did we get last time we had a new coaster?"
    "Behemoth"
"ah yeh that was awesome, lets get that again".
  • Goliath123%s's Photo
Yeah but Louis you have to realize that form the publics perspective that Leviathan will look like a totally new ride, the train, the layout, the height etc, it all differes so much that the public won't care. If Cedar Fair can advertise this ride as successfully as they did with Behemoth then the public will flock to it in large numbers, and if we're lucky they'll ignore Behemoth leaving it to the enthusiasts who think Behemoth is better then Leviathan (which personally considering the layouts and the expected airtime fom Leviathan, Behemoth should still be the better coaster). So yeah, it may seem like a weird approach but that's only to the 1% of enthusiasts :p
So that's my view on it, take it as you will.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
Oh yeh, I'm not saying that the public will think that, I'm just saying it must have been a rather odd discussion between park management.

While at the Mall of America today, I got these pictures of the construction at Nickelodeon Universe for their new for 2012 attraction. It is rumored to be a Gerstlauer Sky Fly, and based on paperwork I could see from the construction wall, it will indeed be that ride. Progress at the site seems to be moving along quite fast as it was only a couple weeks ago that Tak Attack (Zamperla Rotoshake) was removed and scrapped.

    Posted Image
I had my doubts that a Sky Fly could fit, but Tak Attack took up more space than I remembered from when it was still around.

The power house from Tak Attack will be reused for the new ride.

The park probably saw an unprecedented boost in attendance so the management decided to build something somewhat similar, I think it makes perfect sense; kinda like Holiday World adding Mammoth right after Wildebeast

And the coaster really should have a much different experience with a bigger steeper drop, different trains, and a lot less hills. The general public doesn't really notice whether coasters are made by the same company or not especially with them having different trains, so it's no different than Millennium Force and Magnum at Cedar Point really

Here's a Skyrush update, they're going with a slightly different approach than Intimidator with the lift hill

(a bunch of pictures if you look through the previous pages too)

I think it looks great and honestly think this is gonna make Hershey's coaster lineup one of the best in the world
